One French verb, DEVOIR, can either mean MUST or SHOULD depending on the mood of the verb. With indicative mood it means MUST, with conditional mood it means SHOULD. Watch this video for explanation and lots of examples!

Are these 2 sentences correct? 1) I must have called - J'ai dû appelé 2) I should have gone - J'aurais dû allé

Presque ;-) il faut utiliser l'infinitif ici: J'ai dû appeler J'aurais dû aller Mais la prononciation est exactement la même :-)

"Belief" and "assumption" is not the same thing. I'm a believer. The Bible says belief is a conviction. An assumption, on the other hand, is quite a different story.

Dans certaine situations, il est difficile de déterminer si le verbe est au futur ou au conditionnel. C’est notamment le cas à la première personne du singulier. En effet, à cette forme, le conditionnel et le futur se prononcent de la même façon. Exemple : futur : j’aimerai, conditionnel : j’aimerais. La seule différence se trouve à l’écrit, la prononciation est la même. Pour déterminer la différence, il faut établir si l’action est future, ou hypothétique. Pour un francophone natif, il est également possible de changer de personne pour déterminer laquelle est correcte. Exemple : futur : tu aimeras, conditionnel : tu aimerais.

1.Commencez par apprendre les principaux mots de vocabulaire, les règles de base de grammaire et de conjugaison, 2.Lisez des textes français, 3.Travaillez votre prononciation, 4. Ecoutez des gens parler français et essayez de parler vous-même un maximum.
