Devon talks about the postponement or cancellation of the Denis vs Ermes supermatch

Devon Larratt and Engin Terzi are aware that the supermatch between Denis and Ermes has been postponed largely due to a physical problem with Denis' hip.
Engin has spoken with Ermes, and Ermes has told him that he will wait for Denis for a few months because he wants to face him when he is ready.
Devon comments that he doesn't think this match will happen anytime soon because we don't know if Denis will be ready and if he's going to have hip surgery.
Devon wants to see Denis competing in arm wrestling, even if he doesn't fight to be the super heavyweight champion. Devon doesn't want to see him competing against Ermes or Levan when he comes back so he won't have as much pressure.

The most adequate opinion from Devon. I agree, Denis is clearly not the top right now. If Denis fights against the top 3, he will lose.

He is there because of marketing value though, everyone wants to see him pull, kinda like some of Devons matches where he clearly wasnt proven prior

as orthopedics surgeon hip replacement is major surgery normally we do one side at time and if you required both side. it should have like 3 months interval then there will be rehabilitation phase denis can not train that time and he needs time to prepare then to regain his strength i think he will need at least 1 year +

Denis came back after a long time, he was a beast, i definetely agree; but that someone who was beast is back does not mean he should armwrestle with the very very top of armwrestling athletes such as ermes or levan. I think this path should be shaped as a way from bottom to the top of superheavyweight division.

Yeah. This match (Ermes vs Denis) was a missmatch since the start... Denis was full of injuries, there was no point to go against the very top athletes. But organizers need to make money, and Denis has a big name... so...

Denis won't be back in a couple of months. The doctors told him that he would have to undergo a joint replacement, the rehabilitation of which would still take a long time. Denis disappears from the radar for at least a year.

yes I agree I think it is delusional to "wait for Denis" especially since this "wait" it Is of indefinite time. Also in my opinion the match with Denis it is not as significant for the roster as the match against Kurdecha. which he should take if available.

Ermes doesn't want to pull Kurdecha in 2 weeks. Very simple... And i don't feel bad about it. Yeah of course it would be amazing if the match happens in 2 weeks. But i think it's better for Ermes to take it slowly. Kurdecha is not the best matchup for him. Ermes would go from a favourable match, to a unfavorable one... not necessarily because Kurdecha is stronger than him, but because of longer leverages, etc. It's not convenient for the gladiator. He is not going to repeat the same mistake he did against Devon...

@@eddie0Fll It's a completely different situation from the Devon match. It's more like when he pulled Dave when Jerry backed out. Also, his hand and everything is fully trained, he is focused, hasnt had a match in 6! months... Now he has to train and wait even more months for a style that is no real threat to him anyway, and even then we dont know if Denis will actually be fine and well trained. Ermes (and John) is my favorite armwrestler but I dont understand why he chases this Denis match so much, and why he views it as a ticket for a Levan match. Beating Alex would get him way closer to Levan imo, he should have capitalized on this opportunity

@@LagiaArm I think Ermes doesn't want to pull Kurdecha in 2 weeks (it's not really about Denis). I think that he is not too sure to have an actually hard match in just 2 weeks (completely different than what he prepared for). With Kurdecha is all about starting (like against Devon). The one who loses his pronator firstly is going to lose. With Denis it's a much slower fight. I don't really know why, but those hypothesis i made are good, not certain tho. Still i would like to see Ermes vs Kurdecha, but i want to see Ermes win even more. So he can challenge Levan again without any problems...

Due to Denis injury he won't be able to fight well. Unless he recovers. So I think Denis should really focus in recovery first

"You get to face Levan Saginashvili - there's nothing higher" Ofc they all aim high, there isn't a better price in aw than facing Levan and getting a possible chance of taking a round from/causing some trouble to him. Because if it ever happens it will be a historical moment. And whoever does it first will get the most pride from it.

Ermes was doing it 1 year ago🤷‍♂️ But the referee where always stopping the match.😅😅 If Levan was pulling in round 5 and 6, Ermes was definitely going to pin him with the press... Anyways Ermes took 2 rounds

@@eddie0Fll Yeah you're right Ermes has definitely achieved something. But keep in mind Ermes haven't pinned Levan. Not even once. I don't care what would have happened, the facts are there black and white. And yeah the refs were stopping the match ig because thats their job?😅

If I was Ermes (i.e. as strong as him), I would select Kurdecha for a match in a couple of months. The winner has the right to fight against Levan.

What is the point of Ermes or Kurdeche fighting him? They need 1 year or 2 years to become strong enough for this. It's like the UFC heavyweight division, where championship fights can happen once a year or less. They just need to become strong enough to do it.

@@gianlucastrong8197 Did I say somewhere that Levan should not fight anyone for two years? There is Vitaly Laletin (Levan fought with him in 2019) and Artem Morozov, with whom Levan did not fight at all with either his left or right hand. I just don’t see the point in fighting 2-3 and losing (using the example with Larrat). Let him prepare for his left hand and slowly begin to perform on it (these are his own words).

This is BS… these top armwrestlers are starting to pull on fighters based schedules.. if Ermes doesn’t armwrestle again soon .. what are you even waiting for???? What if Denis can’t recover? Ermes would have wasted almost a year of waiting around…. Obviously training but this is the Reason Devon will always have the most popularity.. dude pulls all year aorund and it doesn’t matter who it is.

Soory Devon, but feed Denis to a No Name would be the worse thing to happen. With the name he build, his only option is face an elite opponent, and Ermes is a good name.

Everyone in the top 10 is an elite opponent. Denis needs to climb from lower to higher ranks. No one wants to see him losing every match, while Ermes can have more exciting matches.

@@GuzQuebec there is no "no name" athlete in top 10, denis is not in his peak and with health problems, if he is strong enough to beat top 3 then go for it but he is not ready for that. And u think that laletin, morozov, revas are nonames ? They most likely can beat jerry and georgi which are 3 and 4.

The 1 vs 1 isn't about that. If Denis is beaten by Ermes he can still fight any of those guys after, like he was beaten by Devon and can still fight Ermes, but if he get beaten by any of those guys you said, a fight against Ermes will have no meaning anymore, like he could has came and fought Levan on his come back, but after lose to Devon, a fight against Levan would be pointless. In other hand, if he beats Ermes, people would believe that he has a chance against Levan, while beating any of those guy you said would qualify him to... a fight against Ermes... something he already has.

@@GuzQuebec if he cant beat someone from 5-10 he dont deserve a shot with levan or even ermes. He did not beat anyone from superheavyweight yet. I know denis comeback = money fight and everyone wants to pull him because he is a legend, but if he loose every match because top 5 guys too strong and he is not in his best or close to best form than its pointless And ruining his legacy.
