Kenny Barron played some amazing duets with Stan Getz in the late '80s, their double album "People Time" is a great one to check out

Excellent recommendation John! Picked up this album and there are a few things that really stand out. You can tell immediately the quality of the microphones used and their placement in the soundstage just as you said. The presence of the piano and upright bass are very immediate, in particular the bass. Jerome's tenor tone and articulation are just captivating. Phenomenal playing all around! This is a must have for fans of jazz and music.

Thanks John! Interesting to compare this version of On A Misty Night with the one on 1950s Mating Call with Tadd Dameron and John Coltrane: very similar vibe.

Good catch, was just playing the LP again and read his name, thought to myself it was "a" instead of "e" I'd thought and looked the video again.....
