btw the cases work decently stacked together. they do come undone but i stack them a lot and the big ones clip on to the t-stak which relieves me of the burden of having to find space in a bag or tool box to carry them. super convenient

The DeWalt pilot points with flats are my go-to all around bits. The first time I saw them I was amazed. Finally someone saw the light. These were the answer for the keyless chucks.

The black and gold set inside the 100 piece impact set that was $14.99 at Lowes a couple weeks ago does have flats on the drill bits.

Catus ole boy...must have missed this one but a fine review again. I am interested in knowing if you would be able to demonstrate the manner of sharpening on a grinder you mentioned was a simple process. I would be greatly interested in knowing how you do that.

Interesting review. I use piloted drill bits often but they are more like machinist's reams in sizes and hole quality. I will have to look for the older set, I would be interested to see how they work. From other channel reviews DeWalt makes good bits, I have never used any myself.

I have 2 of the Makita multi cutters 12v. That’s how much I like that little tool I bought 2 of them!

I recently bought the b&g set. I've always been accustomed to marking, punching then drilling into metal as to not have the bit walk. I bought a dewalt 3/32 punch and sharpened it to a point. I then filed down a spot behind the bits on the black plastic holder, to store the punch in the drill bit set.

Great review, Ty. Wow; bring us, sometime, a cutters review. Wish I could find some non chinesium bits. (Ya, I'll suck it up and buy some as needed, with flats.) I like that bit case open drop test. Very helpful. (What's your favorite bit brand? I'm using Black and Decker these days.)

I debated between the pilot points and the Black and Gold. I ended up buying the pilot points and they've been great. I've also never had the cases open, I've got both the drill bits and impact bits in a bag with 4 batteries, drill and impact.

is it difficult to make the flats ourselves? I really like how durable the dewalt bits are for the price. I have had the same 1/2 bit for a few years and used it over and over on metal and its still great

Have you taken a look at the Stanley Rotator Ratchets before? They're nothin new, but I've just now come across that design from seeing the Proxxon version. The Proxxon does look identical to the Stanley, though. I think it would be cool to see the inside of one of those ratchets, and it does look handy

I have these...I like em... got a deal on em...👍 1:40.. first of all because the top lid of the cases clear so that you can see what are in your individual cases and they lock together so that you can have two three or four different bit sets and drill bit cases all together with the packout or toughsystem along with theon the same site and clearly see which is which And they give you those three extra bits because those are the most commonly broken because they're so small 8:50... you're reaching BIG CAT ..who has one package of Bits?🤷‍♂️

Nice video and both are excellent bits but the Black and Gold is primarily for metals and the pilot points are for wood. The tips are different besides just the pilot point. The outside edge is higher too. It make a cleaner hole through wood without blowing out the backside. As far as the cases... The individual tool case is being phased out for Tough System and T Stack. All new cases are going to be compatible with them 2 systems

i have a 15 piece (3/8) black and gold set. Mine has the flats.

I made the mistake by drilling into hard metal. they broke on me. these are good for wood maybe really this metals at best.

They look exactly like ingco drill bits. I would not be surprised if they have the same oem from china. Which is cheaper without the case. 8 set would cost you 200 Philippine peso or roughly 4 dollars.

I'm not sure where your set came from but my black and gold dewalt drill bit set has flats on the 5 biggest bits.. the 1/2"- 7/32" all have flats on them.

I just bought a DeWalt drill set DW1342 . How I HATE this case, let me count the ways. No, you already said it all. Nuff said. Great drills, crappy case.

Planned obsolescence! DeWalt must need to sell total replacement kits to maintain profits.

Trash!!! I bought the 5/8th to drill a hole in cast aluminum and within 30 seconds with keeping the bit lubricated it was shot. Probably good for wood and plastic but don't buy this for anything metal related.
