Very helpful... basically new to the world of power tools etc. your videos have been a big help... I’ve ordered bits already for the “house” drill at the job... but I just ordered The Dewalt dck2991t1 combo kit so I going to get a set of the impact bits as well. Again thanks for the info I will be watching.

Ed Crespo “New” as in the details regarding them. I had an general knowledge as far as what they are but I didn’t know the nuances for instance “hammer drills, brushless motors etc.” I didn’t know anything about that stuff. I recently got promoted at my day job that requires “handyman” work so I’m making myself more familiar with details about them.

“I don’t have a whole lotta time today in this video” - then the first 10 minutes of the video can be summarized into one sentence: "dont buy bits kits without a clear window. You will never know contents of them by looking at them, and then you will waste your time by opening them one by one to check." Thanks very much VCG! That backs up your opening statement so well. ^o^

I agree Leo - "...we're gonna make this one brief - 0:52", could have been summed up with one or two sentences... Even if you didn't want to sum it up like that; at 4:25, he already stated why he wouldn't buy these kit's. And that's the other thing - for the first min. and a half, based on the words he used and the way he presented this, it sounding like he, "was NEVER going to use these kit's EVER again!!" LOL Seriously? Almost 27 min... "for clear lids?" Yeah, no kidding their better, but that's 27 min's I'll never get back again! My impression is Vince likes to ham it up with a lot of fluff and pauses that seemed like he didn't know the end of a few of his thoughts. Good effort Vince, but try to take into consideration that other people's time is valuable to them.

Love his reviews but he is very long winded and takes the short 27 minutes to say just buy the box in which you can see the bits. Personally I have the yellow box, but I know exactly what's in it without having to use a sharpie. I have the one for bits, and I have a red one for drill bits: color coded: KISS (keep it simple stupid) I've been told. I do have a clear one with all specialty bits including a larger sample of torx bits, including the safety ones. I mean just a T20 and T25 doesn't cut it. There are T10 head screws so now you're phucked without one. Just my 2 cents

At 19:28 you experienced why I have always hated those tiny bits that go in the magnetic sleeve. Too often the bit stays on the screw. I would only use the 2" bits that lock into the driver. But the new Milwaukee tiny bits actually lock into the sleeve. I did buy some Dewalt bits with the magnetic sleeve when I saw your video awhile back. I had never seen them until then.
@JF-qc6po

A little masking tape on the bit then force it in the bit holder. Bit will only come out with pliers. Cheaper than buying 2 inch bits and they will be magnetic.
@theyrenotdollsOK
@theyrenotdollsOK 3 жыл бұрын
I have the opposite problem, the holder requires a few whacks on something sturdy to release the bit. I keep the same bit in until it breaks or wears out, and just swap the holder out entirely with a 2" bit when changing to different screws, seems counter intuitive but it's faster than fighting with it.

Yes, I’m one of those that mark the cases on a few sides for easy ID depending on how they are stored. Even on the red Milwaukee cases but I separate the drill and driver bits by type into personal kits of my choosing to ease the process as well. The boys do like the new clear cases also and they mix and match to their own preferences. Though I prefer the Milwaukee style of holding the bits the dewalts can be a bit of a pain. So I cut the top tabs off these so the bits can lay in easier. Hot glue small cheap bar magnets from hobby lobby onto the back side of holders and bits stay in place. As the bits are used up I pick up the particular size bits in their cluster packages as needed when refilling the cases. I’m not an expert but thought I’d share something that works well for me. Stay safe

Your presentation and loquacious nature overpower your content and any teaching that Would come out of this video. I have been in TV production for a while and your presentation is very thin when it comes to content and entertainment value. In this space it is all about presentation and entertainment You focus too much on what you think you are. I did love the Max Fits but have found some uses for the impact kits with the duel torsion, and the impact sockets that were included in the Impact kit with model #DWAMI35 which includes your favorite magnetism accessory along with a newer and longer quick load version of the original small magnetism bit clip. Keep up the good work and thanks for the video's

I once saw a vid by a guy called Techmoan on YT... he was restoring a record player with a clear plastic top. He used Brasso, wad of material in a can (not the liquid version) to "sand" clear plastic smooth. Its a hidden gem. From England I believe.

i'll tell you why it's a good idea to have a straight or flat head, or blade bitt, if you bugger up or fuckify (strip) a screw or bolt head, grind a slot accross it, get it out with a straight bit

By Christmas you will be jonesing over the 64 bit box that has both sets in one box. Why doesn't Dewalt offer an empty 128 bit box so we can combine all the smaller sets into one box. If they haven't thought of that please pass it along to them.

@swhitem

I like the $10 solution for the kit. There’s too much filler in these kits that I wouldn’t use a ton to justify the higher prices. I’ll probably go the $10 kit and then replace the commonly used stuff (#2 and t-25) with the higher quality bits as they wear out.

I have the same case, I took out the part that holds the bits and use it keep some of my essential sockets inside it so they're all in one place. Works well for when you have to take some tools out of your truck or tool box and bring them to the job in a tool bag or bucket.

James Sullivan ---- You sir are absolutely correct. But, you have to be an actual real tradesman who has worked commercial construction or trades for a long time to know that Apex is the best. Hands down. You won't find them at Home Depot or Lowe's or any other fake contractor's supply chain. You could have made a 90 second video saying that and saved hundreds of people 25 minutes of their precious time that none of us has to waste. Check out my other post if you want a chuckle.

Good morning. Yes I'm aware that Apex isn't available at those store's... I worked at a store called AAA Wholesale tool &supply in Northridge, California. They were in business for 40 year's. But, sadly they closed in 2017. Because of home depot..... People didn't want quality.... Just crap instead.

@@jamessullivan9574 ---- I knew that place. I grew up and lived next to LAX until I was 30 yrs old and I spent 16 years as a union journeyman wireman, now I am licensed and have my own business and I live in Woodland Hills. Its hard to find the real construction supply wholesale houses anymore. I worked for Bergelectric as a driver before i was an apprentice and we bought most of our expendables( hacksaw blades, bits, tips, hole saws, arbors etc... ) and hand tools like socket sets and Allen sets, tin snips, etc...) from Martin Supply in downtown off Washington near Long Beach Blvd. . After I was a driver for a year making pickups at that shop daily, I became warehouse foreman and I was making purchases spending a lot of money with them, so a couple years go by and I become an apprentice and was leaving the warehouse job the salesmen at Martin had me come over and they took me to lunch and afterwards one of the managers had me walk with him throughout the warehouse and he pulled every tool an Apprentice electrician needs and some extras, probably close to $700 or more back in '89 all Klein and Lennox and gave me all that to help me out because I had given them millions of dollars with of business over the couple years. I was 22 years old when I ran that warehouse for the biggest union electrical contractor on the West coast. $100 million a year in jobs.

I recently switched from my panasonic drill that I've been using for more than 20 years. I debated between Dewalt and Milwaukee. I bought the DCD7976 hammer drill. I regret my choice. The chuck SUCKS, it doesn't stay tight. It loosens up while I'm on a ladder and the bit or driver goes flying. I tried to change the chuck but it doesn't come off. I brought it to the dewalt service center they couldn't get it off either. Have any suggestions?
