That hook is extremely useful around tables or other stationary set up. It doesn't seem like it at first but it is. You can hang it right onto an edge.

In this application this tool is like a powered hacksaw with no return stroke so it is smooooth. Good to see how it works. Thanks. : )

I've worked in PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) areas for years and It never ceases to amaze me how many times I see people working in these areas without wearing Safety Glasses or Ear Plugs. Especially when I watch the Motor Trend Chanel with Shows like Bitchin' Rides, Texas Metal, Fantom Works, etc. . . it really surprises me how often they NEVER wear PPE.

I wear safety glasses, a respirator with p100 filters, and ear muffs when using power tools. It's like flossing. You only need to floss between the teeth you want to keep.

My dad never did unless he was welding. Otherwise he used the squinting method. I make my living with my eyesight. I wear eye protection every time

I think the light cast a shadow off the blade to help maintain a straight line. I saw that somewhere.
@sun27g3 жыл бұрын
nice...as the tool is held by hands as opposed to on a solid base, will it give a clean cut without chipping and zig zag cuts?

I was about to buy one but thought, “I should check a video on this saw” I’m buying it for sure now! Thanks

I have used this saw more than i ever thought i would, it has been a great addition to the shop. I could not be happier with it. There will be a video in the future about a stand that i made for it.

These are very handy tools! Now you just need a "SWAG Off Road Portaband Table" - Adding the table doubles the saws utility.
@DanielWoodell5 жыл бұрын
Gregory MacNeil Spoiler alert, next Friday’s videos about that very thing!

I love my SAWG Portaband Table - so very handy and precise - I painted mine with Flood Penatrol so that it would not rust. I also have the plasma but have not used it much since I got the table - I will say however that you do have to match the bandsaw blade to the material thickness if yo are to get the max life out of them - I also use a Doall cutting past or WD40 on my all cuts - @@DanielWoodell

Silly question by an amateur, this seems pretty neat but does it not lose the utility of having it upright? In other words, if you can't mount it to a table upright, it loses some utility from a traditional band saw, in my opinion. For instance, you use a band saw not by moving the saw but by moving the wood around and into the blade. Unfortunately band saws are pretty huge and for those of us with not a lot of space, a full blown band saw isn't an option. It's a bummer that this can't be mounted on a bench or something.

SWAG Off Road makes a portable table you can attach the machine to. I have not used it but it looks like you can use this tool as a traditional bandsaw with the table.

What kind of jobs are these tools good for? My buddy has that one for sale for $120 slightly used and I only ever need circular saws, sawzall, miter and sometimes a jig, so I'm wondering if I should just get it since it's so cheap thru my buddy

I contacted them about working with them, and was turned down. But i am a fan of Dewalt tools as it is, and this has always been a tool that i wanted. So Yes I paid full price on Amazon for the tool.

I know this video is old, but I am wondering the name of the clamp you're using
@DanielWoodell2 жыл бұрын
I rewatch the video because I wasn’t sure what you were asking about. If you’re asking about the orange clamp on the bench. It’s called a vise. Happens to be a very old one from the 60s that cleaned up and repainted.

Is it faster than plasma or grinder?
@DanielWoodell2 жыл бұрын
The versatility of it is much better, I have plasma and gas I use the band saw 90% of the time. When you get into 1/2” or thicker plate gas is the way to go. But gas is also much more expensive over time.

I was looking also dude! And guess what? I saw exactly the same thing that my brother saw when he looked over up at the middle side under neath the front hanging thing that looks like what I thought was going to be one of those little tiny innermost type of things that you could do with your own free time and you would like to see it in the first half of the year when I get a chance at that point in the morning but I'm not going to go back to the next level of my life unless you are in the same position as a little leprechaun.

It seems to be a very easy one forest and you can just take the top handle off in Mount it throughthe same handle mounting screws and then clampett at the bottom so simple also congratulations for not being one of the idiots that buy everything from Harbor freight in my opinion the worst blade on America that's ever existed
