I had this saw and just ended up using a zip tie on that safety switch and kept it on saved me a lot of hassle in tight places, the job I was on when I ended up doing this was when I was trying to cut some 3 inch rigid pipe out of the ceiling with some old copper wire in it

I don't know what saw you had but it isn't this one. You have to release and reactivate both triggers between each cycle.

I own this saw and tried to use it for the first time today and thought my saw was broken. The order in which you need to pull the triggers is so counterintuitive that I didn't even consider it. Thanks to your video, I now know my saw isn't broken, it's just poorly designed.

Same here only I didn't even think of that. I asked my son what I was doing wrong cause he's even smarter than I am and he couldn't get it to work either. I scoured the owners manual and it didn't say anything about triggers. So I called DeWalt and asked them if I was overlooking something. The person I talked to didn't have any suggestions so they gave me a shipper and I sent it in for warranty. It came back today without any information. And of course it still didn't work. I finally squeezed the safety first and viola it worked. WTheck?!!!!!!. Why would you make it that way and furthermore they should just be safety switches. They're either made or not and it shouldn't matter in what order you activate them. DeWalt lost a lot of my respect on this one.

The stop is adjustable. The allen wrench is stored on the saw.

I'm not a band saw guy but my Makita hedge trimmer has a safety cut-off on the forward handle, requiring 2 hands at all times. I simply tied that switch into place so it's dismissed. Seems that wouldn't work on this because of the sequential switches for operation. Yep, deal killer. Thanks TRZ, be safe, and God bless! 😁👍 P.S. keep a watchful eye for Vince. Yeah it wouldn't work Dave. Already tried it, but yeah I agree that it was suprising to see him so early in the morning considering he has such a long drive from Philly. I guess he was determined to get the job drone bro hehe

I haven't used any band saws. They seem like they do the job. Using this in maybe a tight spot may be rough with that sensitive safety switch. All In all nice review. I just can't believe Vince would do something like this. I think he was set up. 😂😂

I tape down the safety handle to make single hand and awkward cuts. Works great for me after all im a professional.

I think it's the safety police coming for all tool manufacturers. I don't think it's just DeWalt going to be like this. Buy your Milwaukee band saw now be for they to have to change. To many injurys from one handed people with band saw runing it for others

It's sort of like my Milwaukee M18 sander the on and off switch sits on the top right where you put your palm and when you're sending you're always moving your hand around the top of the sander while sanding and I always hit the off switch I love to send but I think they should have said it different type of switch

I would not want this bandsaw. I tend to catch material with my off hand and it would be literally impossible with that safety switch. Would be super annoying.

Its creepy how similar it is to the Milwaukee deep cut from the blade tension nob to which wheel moves to tighten blade to the speed and led light and edge guide only thing about this dewalt is my Milwaukee only does 360 sfpm the dewalt is a little faster on max sfpm

Reciprocating saw for me. This tool doesn’t make sense, but it looks fun. Must be for a specific kind of pro work that a lowly diy fool like me can’t fathom.

It’s a must for pipe work. Recip saws are slower, vibrate a lot and when your cutting black iron / angle iron all day it makes a big difference

@@scott6281 Sure, makes sense. I cut through a couple 4 inch iron drain pipes to replace in my house, and yes a reciprocating saw did take a couple mins (for each pipe).

They have it where you have to pull the trigger first then the handle switch and it resets every time you let go of the trigger.

Na it wont work. You have to release it to get it to start again. So pull the trigger then the safety switch after
