Thank you for taking the time to create this video. I just purchased the Dewalt job site saw (My first large power tool) and have been consumed with fear because I couldn’t get anything properly square. I’ve watched SO many safety videos so know what can happen if things aren’t set up correctly. I’m feeling confident now and will use the methods you’ve shared to get everything square. Thank you!

It might be the camera angle but it looked like the throat plate was kicking the square up a tiny bit. I've always felt to get the most accurate adjustment you should remove the throat plate while adjusting everything.

First of all thanks for taking the time to comment . My table saw cuts good 90 and 45 degree cuts with my own home made insert . The factory throat plate is less than ideal . I made a video called ( table saw zero clearance insert ). Sorry didn’t link it but you can look it on my channel. I really think you will like my elegant solution and I am pretty sure you wont have seen it before . Please let me now your thoughts in the comments section as it got so few views and I really think its the best zero clearance insert ever . Fingers crossed Sion

Hello Sir. This was an excellent tutorial. I have watched many clips none of them explain as clearly as you explain. I wonder if you have something like this for Dewalt miter saw and circular saw !! Thanks a again.

Great video!!!! This is how a tutorial video should be done! Now, is there any way to fix the warped concave fences and bumpy tabletops they've gone to recently? 3 saws, 5 days, all the same issues.

Sadly I am yet to perform miracles on the channel. I really appreciate the kind words though . Cheers Sion

I've seen it done but it was a major amount of work. He shaved the saw top until it was perfect. And for the fence just attach a board or aluminum rail to it and then it would be flat.

Hi john, I really would stand by my methods of setting up this table saw . I say this only because I know of no other way and I am extremely happy after setting mine up after its major repair. Its far safer now that when I first unboxed it from factory new . Cheers Sion

Fantastic! Actually I had dispaired of using my DEWALT for dado-s ntil I watched your video. I have the alignment spot on, but there is still the issue of slop in the Fence. To make an accurate fence setting I have to run the rails out past the intended position and then crank the fence back in. The slop seems to be in the mechanism that moves the two rails on which the Fence is locked down. Is this common? Is it the nature of the beast or can I do something about it? Thoughts?

Hi Bruce , Honestly I don’t know . All I know is when I first bought my saw it arrived and had been dropped in the box . It damaged the fence mechanism and I couldn’t align the fence so I sent it back and got a replacement. I certainly doesn’t sound right . Have you checked to see if the rod that connects the front and back fence slide is perfectly straight ? Just a thought . Good luck and let me know what’s causing the problem. cheers Sion

I have the same issue. I am going to go through all of these steps first to make sure my saw is completely square and then I will check again but yes, when I want to make a cut to an exact measurement, I must bring the fence farther to the right and then they didn’t bring it back left to my cut mark. This is the only way I can keep the fence square to the table.

Hello Sir. I appreciate your prompt reply. I followed your instructions and successfully accomplished all except one. When I put an engineering square against my fence , i see day light. I want to say that the fence is not vertical to the surface of the table saw ( I do not mean parallel. Per your instruction I solved that matter ) do you have a solution for that matter? The second question is that how can I go to your channel? I tremendously appreciate your feedback.
@sionhughes55439 ай бұрын
Not sure about how to get the fence vertical . I will need have a think about that . As for your second point . To visit my channel type Sion hughes into the youtube search bar and there you will find my channel . Click on the round picture of my face and you will end up on my home page with about 65 videos . Let me know how you get on . Cheers Sion

Hello. I'm having issues where my saw is rubbing the throat plate at 45°, but only towards the front of the saw. I know the angle is correct with a digital angle gauge. Any thoughts? The screws you loosened in the back only allow the rear of blade to move left and right while locking the front of the blade. This doesn't help since that is where I need clearance.
@sionhughes5543 Жыл бұрын
Hi Aaron , If everything is straight apart from the rubbing on the front of the throat plate why not remove the contact area with a file . Hope that helps. Cheers Sion
