When I was a teenager, I used a John Deere 21SP to mow the lawns of many of my neighbors' homes. The secret for high productivity was a self-propelled, collecting basket with a top feeler and a converted bicycle trailer for quick transport in town. As a teenager, I always had money in my pocket and I learned a lot about negotiating that helps me today! With best regards from Bavaria, Germany.

I swear half the projects I do could be done better with a table saw. One of the few tools I still regret not having. That and a planer. But Christ I've already well on the way of filling a shed full of power tools. I might be getting divorced if I show up with another $600 tool in the back of the truck.

Been in the trades for years . Switched over to dewalt 10 yrs ago. I literally have over 70% of every Dewalt tool made and went totally cordless w/ a majority of all my hand tools . Don't sleep on the pressure washer. I don't have this exact one, but I was doing my driveway and patio, and the neighbor next door offered me 200 to do her deck. Literally paying for itself immediately. The oscillating multi tool is an absolute must have as well.

This is spot on. I bought all of these tools except the pressure washer in April of last year to start my own remodeling business and they have all paid for themselves twice over by now. The multi tool, oddly enough, is my favorite. So many uses. That pressure washer has been on the radar for half a year or so, but I will probably get a Dewalt pressure washer with a minimum of 4gpm, which unfortunately they don’t make one with battery start, self choke and all the other bells and whistles as this one. This list is definitely approved.

For me there were 3 tools that standalone made me money , the chainsaw , the Impact wrench/driver, and the angle grinder ( which I have used as a sander polisher and even attached circular saw blades to to do things in a pinch ) and I have since found sawzalls and hammer drills to be very useful moneymakers on their own , however the one thing that's made me the most money is my truck

Guy I used to work for put circular saw blade on a grinder to cut a jamb "in a pinch" as we didn't have the jamb saw or multitool with us. It kicked on him, went into forearm and then dropped it on is leg. One of worst things I've ever seen.

@VCGConstruction awesome video! My grandfather of 88 years (who you might not believe it or not but I’ll show videos) is still doing trim carpentry and flooring always carried his skilsaw Circular saw, a plumb 16 oz hammer, a dewalt 12” miter saw. No matter what the job whether he was stretching carpet and laying it or repairing flooring he always carried those things. AND in true Vince fashion he believed skilsaw was the only circular saw. He bought Makitas newest Circular saw and he loves that, he says skilsaw is too heavy for him now. Lol. Love the videos Vince! Glad to be a part of this community.

Been watching your videos for a while; first time commenting/questioning though. First off: THANK YOU!!! Soooooo much great advice and info - and humor, SO well presented! I grew up in South Jersey (Gloucester County), joined military and departed in late '89, and still miss the whole Delaware Valley area: Jersey pines, tomatoes and corn, Philly - especially the history (birthplace of the nation!!!), the Flyers, concerts, WMMR - you get me. I'm retired from the military and living in the Georgia pines (and oaks, maples, magnolias, etc.), but seeing you and hearing you speak absolutely transports me right back there - like I'm listening to guys I grew up with. My Dad was an HVAC guy (a damn good one) and one helluva wrench that prob made as much or more wrenchin' bikes (Harleys only) from our home garage. He always told me, and taught me by example, to not just do the job right but do it right the first time, to save time and money and simply be a professional. So, I love hands-on, hard, honest, productive work that one can live off of and be proud of, and I love all those who work that way, that do that work. He passed away some years ago but I've no doubt that, were he still with us, he and I would be talking about your latest videos/advice - he'd have liked you and your crew a lot! ... Well, sorry to ramble on, LOL. Really wanted to thank you - MUCH - for keeping us in the know, brother! I'm mainly DIY, with some side-hustle work. I've got 4 of these already, 2-5, just need to acquire No. 1 now. One off-topic question: What brand boots/shoes are those that you're sportin' in this video? Steel toe beneath the rubber? In fact, have you done recommendation(s) for boots/shoes? If so, what's the link? If not, might you consider doing one? Again, my many, MANY thanks for all of your awesome videos and info!!!!!

One thing about the pressure washer from dewault is i've heard alot of people having issues with the pumps/outlets of them and alot of negative reviews. however it could have been just a specific model that i was reading on. But i agree with you, pressure washers are something you can make money off of with that unit alone. just needs to be reliable as possible especially if you're pressure washing alot.

i use a saw stop jobsite saw, a high end cabinet saw, and i own a delta shop saw. I have used that dewalt table saw for about 40 hrs over a month and was very impressed on the accuracy and ease of use. it may take a little tuning to get it cutting right, but thats all saws. the only thing i would worry about is tossing it around with that adjustment rail and the saw loosing zero or breaking.

Later I was badly injured, and lost it all, but its doable with a pressure washer. I made thousands per week using only the pressure washer. Slowly I took job after job in addition to pressure washing, and built up slowly. So I could not agree more

@verycoolgang “time is money” tried & true. The other one I heard a lot growing up around residential construction was “you’ve got a dime holding up a dollar”. Sometimes we spend so much time hemming and hawing over what might be a 5-10% difference in price or performance that those hours spent could have made you more $. What’s great now days is we don’t just have to rely on word of mouth and have people such as yourself that have done the research, done the real world testing and provide us with that info. Although, it’s still easy to go down the rabbit hole and spend weeks watching videos so best advice for all find 1-3 reviewers that you like on KZfaq or similar and go with anything in their top 3 picks. Thank You for what you do.

I know it's a DeWalt list but that Porter Cable "pancake" air compressor that comes with 3 nail guns has served me well in my first year of being a self employed cabinet installer/remodeler. I was nailing trim with finish nails and a nail set before that. If you're going to get the miter saw and the table saw, you need a compressor and finish nail guns. I know it's just a Porter Cable, but like I said, I've only been in business for myself for a year.

@@michaeldepow6663 What were they doing to you? I've heard that those guns suck from a couple people, but they've worked well for me. I only had trouble when I first got the set, I had some nails laying out and I got the 16 brads and the 18 finish nails mixed up. Took me 10 minutes to figure out what was wrong but no jams ever since. I think they're a little unforgiving, can't let them bounce on recoil, but they've done well for the last year. Getting compliments on my crown molding and everything. Might just be that I don't know what I'm missing.

That Miter Saw you can get for $349 around Black Friday dates. Great $$. Stand was on sale for $50 at the time too if I remember correctly. Not the rolling one...

Those are some good picks and i was shocked by #1. I thought an impact driver would be on there. For a table saw especially for anyone new to it would be the one from SawStop......sure it is WAY more expensive but the first time you need the auto stop feature (when it comes in contact with skin) you will be glad you spent it. That is the only table saw I would currently buy ever since the son of a co worker cut 3 or 4 fingers off on one even with like 10 years experience with table saws

Can you do a video on the best independent or universal folding miter saw table as well as table saw table? Bosch, Dewalt, Others? Would they work with the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 12” Miter Saw or the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Table Saw? Thanks!

I'm more of the home repair / project type. So am just going to go favorite tools, 18 g brad nailer, made in the U.S.A drill/driver mid-size letd combo beast w additional settings, torq turner ,all metal chuck head, although got to love the plug and play w the impact bits , but still rock w mid size. Okay, know Y'all had great top 5 condensed, so my last isssa 3 why tie, 13" chainsaw, site blower, or the stand wen pp & perform grinder, takes a minute for my adrenaline to equal back, got to come down, like l was just inna accident or something. Know to pluck battery right outta it, just kawz the feeling of the power, kind stick around..

Hard to say,but so many of my tools have paid for themselves over and over again. Two things come to mind and they are air nailers and airless paint sprayers. And my initial thinking was,I will never hammer or brush again!

My Fein makes a lot of noise, I paid 400 for it with accessories. The dewalt is quite as a mouse. The hammer drill is ok but I dont use it much. Good for drilling stucco, not 40 year old concrete. The cordless table saw is fantastic when all you need is a few accurate cuts, you can leave it the back of your truck and use it there.
