I love watching your sweet cows so much. Cows are like big dogs. I think they didn't like how cold it is today though and that's why they were hollering! Can you blame them?

Beautiful small herd you have. I have wanted Dexters for years, since my dad told me about them. I done lots of research about them, and they are way more cost efficient than standard size cows. One day I will have me some, Dexter cows. But for now it's all we can do to keep a roof over our heads, and that is not going so well. Please pray we find work soon.

Great looking stock. The exterior walls of the end stalls are subject to a kick or a big butt or a head and need some horizontal 2x6 or 2x8's.

They're very hardy breed. Not to large. Have the best tasting meat. They give A2 type milk. More can live on a piece of land.

You have spoiled your cows!!! Wish I lived on your farm. I'd get spoiled too. Love their mooing. Oh, on a whim I planted some 8 year old radish seeds and they have sprouted!!! At least 99% has come up. Waiting a little longer to see if more comes up to replant the spaces. They just sat in a drawer. Never under estimate your seeds.

Reminds me so of the cows I had. Both were my sons 4H projects. Turned out to be my pets. Always came running when they heard me. Even when I sold them to a neighbor to add to his herd. Miss them.

Loved meeting the dexters! I was just wondering, because I don't understand, and I know Danny has milk allergies, but you can butter and smoke cheeses so why don't you milk the cows? Really just curious so no offense. Dexter milk is great milk. It has smaller globules so is like goat's milk for digestion, is creamy and full of buttermilk. Leftover whey is great for pigs and the garden. Since you are smart enough to keep the babies with the mommas, you only take what milk you need instead of full milkout and waste. You could share a lot of good healthy protein with your children or store cheese and butter from your own cows :)

Deb B I worked as a research librarian for over forty years. Finding answers to questions is a habit. Rest assured, if I were in error, Danny would be (rightfully) quick to correct me. You could also have exerted yourself to find out.

We raise them for resale and meat.

@@DeepSouthHomestead - Ok, you do slaughter and use them for meat. I've just never seen anyone get so close to animals they're going to slaughter. I've thought about starting meat rabbits but I'm afraid I'll get too attached to them.

Dexters were bred to be good for both purposes.There’s a lot of information about them available online.

They're raised for both. They have some of the best meat and milk. A2 type milk very healthy for you.

@@thethess3054 According to the website on dexters, the average is 11/2 - 2 gal/day, but exceptionally good producers can give 5 gal/day of milk
