My grand parents bought the Caprice wagon in 1966. It was white with a red interior. Nobody in their neighborhood ownwd a car with the fake wood trim yet. 😊

It’s a good idea to take some fine sandpaper or emery cloth and give the new pads a slight sanding, it breaks the glazing if any is left from the gluing process before putting the drums on the final time. Pinion seals aren’t usually to bad. The 66 is a nice looking wagon, clean sharp lines. 👍

Here in michigan we just make our own brake lines. Get some tube bend it and flare it. Much cheaper.
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
It was faster to order them and do other projects in between working on this.

Same here in Minnesota.

On the passenger side brake line, before doing any reshaping, connect it to the T fitting in it's mount. The reason is that curve going around the panhard mount will be properly located that way. As it is if you connect it to the wheel end first, it moves the clearance bends where the panhard mount is at too far towards the center of the car. Also, don't use WD40 as a penetrating oil. While it is more expensive to buy, use Kroil. You will be able to get things to come loose that won't with WD40 as it will creep into spaces as small as 1 millionth of an inch to hel loosen even badly rusted things and you wont need to use nearly as much of it so it will actually be cheaper in the long run. You may need to go online to buy it as it's not carried in a lot of stores.

I just ended up replacing all of the lines. Peace of mind

😅 WD 40? Get some good oil like PB blaster. WD stands for water displacement and is great for after the car wash and the points are wet. But worthless for rusty bolts.
