Thanks for watching! I’m trying to post more frequently instead of just dropping one 30+ minute video every other month. Good luck with your projects also!

I learned to drive on a 1966 impala and drove it many years. Nice to see one getting back on the road... I remember helping my dad do the brakes and this reminded me of that. Thanks for the memories

Thanks for bringing me back to high school auto shop, Dez!! We all drove 60s GM cars with drum brakes. Mine was a 67 Bel Air sedan. Good times!!
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
Yeah, it’s a dying skill, that’s for sure. When I go to add horsepower in the future, I will be swapping over to disc brakes. For right now, I just want to drive it.

@DezzysSpeedShop You're definitely very thorough with your projects. Particularly how you pack the wheel bearings and prep the backing plate. Who makes the gloves that you wear?

Are you kidding me? Mine was the same.

Ever since I was a little kid I have loved long roofs. Mom had a 66 Pontiac Catalina 9 passenger wagon and I would love to have another one but I don't see that happening due to finances and health issues. Gotta LOVE the wonderful spelling they did on that master cylinder cover.... LOL
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
There are some pretty affordable Catalinas up here in Washington. Thanks for watching.

Another fun filled break 🙄 repair. The Impala waggo is coming along nicely. Good that the hub cap popped back out with its nice bong sound. Saved face for you. I continue to enjoy your channel. Cheers.

My buddy bought a 68-impala wagon with a 396 2-barrel carb and auto. That thing would fly down the freeway no problem Js.

great video and a really cool wagon.i bet you can kinda fade match those wheels.
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
Yea I’ll add grey or white when doing it and a flat clear
@faulknerfixesallАй бұрын
@@DezzysSpeedShop good choice the color matched wheels on the car you showed from the hub cap person ,those look super on that car.so your wheels should look great as well. i really miss the old chevys i used to have a 66 chevelle 4 door way back in the day and got in lots of trouble,my dad made me sell it.😄

do the blue wheels!!!
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
That’s definitely where I’m leaning 😁

Blue would be cool but black would really let those caps pop and be the center of attention 🤷

If you"re restoring this gem and have a genuine love for it...pls repaint it and not defeat the purpose.
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
I’m definitely not ever painting it
@kevinbhola9408Ай бұрын
You should repaint that entire car, this patina thing is not your cultute bro.

Hate to be this guy but man I’d rather let a car sit a little longer while I stack up money for a disk brake swap, rather than replacing drums.
@DezzysSpeedShopАй бұрын
Cool
@DarkFlamageАй бұрын
Why do people think that way? This car survived from 1966 'til now just fine with 4 wheel drums, did it not?
@brando7655Ай бұрын
@@DarkFlamagenot really considering it wasn’t on the road for half them years.
@DarkFlamageАй бұрын
@@brando7655 Wow, Genius responce to my comment...LMAO Let's dissect your reply a little bit, shall we? You say.... [not really] ...what? It didn't really survive? So the car doesn't exist right now in very good condition, huh? Weird, I must be imagining it then. [half them years] ....it's 58 years old so 1/2 is 29 still pretty long for any car to go with a single pot master cylinder and 4 wheel drum brakes, I'd say! But then again Drivers in those times knew how to drive defensively. So, that explains alot.
