First clip of planes and ATC shot from the Hyatt East at DFW in the mid 90's.
Lots of wonderful 727's, Tristars, DC-10's, 732's and the whole Delta ramp operation there.
Camera was not HD and I know it is not of the greatest quality. I applied image stabilization to the video to help with my shaky cam syndrome. Hope you enjoy.
If enough interest, will load some more.

I can’t tell ya how much I appreciate you uploading these. I grew up in the Midwest in the late 80’s through 90’s and any spring break family vacation began with either TWA to KSTL or an American Saab to DFW. This is where I fell In love with aviation and I partially credit this airport in this period with inspiring me to become a pilot. DFW was an absolute Mecca of airliners in the 90’s. It seemed there was every conceivable airline and type and it was breathtaking. I remember the American Eagle Island that was a hive of Saab 340’s, ATR-42’s and 72’s. It’s just not the same today. Just that scene at 29:42 makes me happy, an American Eagle Saab 340B taking off with what I think is an ASA Emb-120. I remember when I was 8 or 9 in 96/97 I think there were some Dash 7’s and B1900’s at DFW that were yellow. Rio Air I believe they were called. Another example of the diverse types of aircraft there at the time.

Delta terminal 4E, aka "Easy Street"!!!!! I used to ride delta 737-200s, and 727s between KAUS and KLBB, through DFW, very frequently in the '80s and early '90s. "plane spotting" was much more interesting back in those days; a wide variety of airlines and aircraft types at most every airport. Thanks for posting this video, man! I love these memories!!!

Now there’s only 3 legacy carriers and every airport is packed with regional jets, 737’s and a320’s. No more tri-jets either :(

I'll always like this Delta Air Lines colors in this video especially on the L-1011. I have 2 1:200 diecast in these Delta colors, an Inflight200 Boeing 747 & my recent Boeing 767-300.

Back then, DL had between 200 to 300 ops/day at DFW....when BN was operating, it had its largest hub there, along with its HQ's. BN went out of business and DL re-strategized and re-allocated its ops to different hubs and closed its base @DFW. Today, its pretty much all AA. When EA went out of business, AA was considering moving into EA's biggest hub in Atlanta. AA thought better of it and I chuckle when I saw a quote by an AA exec who said, "Delta will kick our asses if we go into Atlanta." Instead, AA decided to move into EA's Miami hub and have their own there.

I didn't realize American Airlines had so much competition at DFW with the presence of Delta Air Lines. This nice footage brings back memories of my layover here in 1990.

In the 80’s, it was American, then Delta, then Braniff!! Delta bailed DFW, like Continental bailed DEN!

Similar to Denver, where. The original Frontier folded, and Continental bailed. United gained power in the western states with that reality

I was a pilot for "American Eagle" flying the Saabs out of DFW. In 1993, 1994 our callsign was Simmons, prior to that it was Eagle for a bit and before that it was Metro. They were using Metro in this video, so it had to have been 91, 92 ish. FOLLOW UP: On a second video (Clip 2) by this same person posting there is a date stamp on the video of March 7, 1992.
