As a grown ass woman, I love a grown ass song. I've missed sexy concepts in kpop, and this is perfect because its tastefully sexy. You can tell they took into consideration what everyone would be comfortable with, aka Jiwoo in a cat suit in Joker goo and BM with his tiddies out lol

I love how the visuals support the message of the song. All these liminal spaces creating a slightly uncomfortable and surreal atmosphere, the strong neon green and red providing unnatural accents. And all the slime and splatter patterns. The visuals alone are somewhere between sexy, weird, intriguing and .. icky. An innuendo in themselves.

Honestly, You In Me is the Kill Bill of Kpop 😂 But it's more about a dead relationship and the delusion of not accepting it, they are not letting it go. I think they talked about this... They didn't kill the boys? The boys mostly represent how dead the toxic relationship makes them inside and how they are not present in it. One of the lines say "Why you push me away?" So yeah... When you say they are delusional and living in the past, yes. That's exactly what they are doing.

Yesss totally agree, only KARD can make this kinda concept, their dynamic and "adult nature" is very unique to them. And also love it cause there's a flood of latino inspired kpop song lately (that I've been grooving all day, they're so good too), but KARD came to reclame their latino-kpop throne. Is not only about the rythm, you need the presence and the lyrics too! And amazing read of You in me! everything makes so much sense honestly.

it is true that in the colorful and charming world of kpop it is rare to see productions of this nature, even if there are a certain number of them. say that depending on the generation, the production is more or less dark. the second generation had a lot of quite dark MV's, groups like VIXX, B.AP, INFINITE, Brown eye girls, Cross gene even BTOB had songs that talked about depression, suicide or death. the new generation is above all in the Era attitude, a rebel generation that seeks to be cool and wild.

just saying - VIXX, B.A.P, Cross Gene, & BTOB are 3rd gen. 2nd gen however had quite a lot of colorful MVs. 3rd gen was when groups began being more open about dark subjects in their comebacks.

@@thekeytomyheart_ - nop they're 2nd gen but you can call them cross gen i'am korean and for you're knowledge 2nd gen start around 2004 /2005 and finish around 2012/2013 . so the 3rd gen start officialy in end 2012 but really start in 2014 because before that most of the active groups are still from the 2nd gen the phase between 2 generation take time one year in general 2 years sometimes . - multiple groups can be call cross gen if they start around these years . and they all debut in 2012 or even before . these day's we still got many groups crossing gen and still in activity like SNSD ,SUPER JUNIOR ,BOA etc... . - if you want the 3rd gen group really start with groups like BTS / RED VELVET or LABOUM . because all very first 3rd gen group who's debut end 2012 or 2013 are pretty much got disbanded or not very memorable and the most noticable groups and the real war start in 2014 /3015 with groups like GFRIEND /RED VELVET /TWICE .

@@fabricemaire4433 yeah I remember a HUGE influx of debuting groups in between 2013 and 2014 and a LOT of those groups disbanded within the year. 3rd gen groups that debut in the beginning didn’t have any longevity which is I guess why fans are blurring the different gens. But it was definitely the 2nd Gen of idol that gave 0 f*cks (a lot of the music had innuendos and female and male idols were free to interact and even hold special stages and collaborate like SNSD and 2PM or WonderGirls and Big Bang), while 4th Gen is just out here trying to survive and not get cancelled just by breathing.

@@Lauren-zx3gx I think every generation has had these good and bad sides. the 4th generation benefits from the global impact that certain 3rd gen groups like BTS or blackpink had. and now have global visibility are able to sell millions of albums in less than a year of career and achieve global rankings such as billboards. SNSD or SUPER JUNIOR were the top groups of my childhood, they had incredible popularity and dominated their category for a decade. yet groups like AEPSA or IVE have sold more albums in 1 year than these artists in 5 or 6 years. and it is not because SNSD or SUPER JUNIOR was less popular they did not benefit from the same advantages. The views on You Tube didn't matter and the only thing that mattered was selling albums in Korea or Japan and winning Daesang and end of the year awards. whereas nowadays bands want grammy awards and sell albums all over the world. each generation has paved the way for future generations. SNSD and SUPER JUNIOR did better than S.E.S and H.O.T. Blackpink and BTS did better than SNSD and SUPER JUNIOR. and IVE/LESSERAFIM/NEW JEANS or STRAY KIDS/SEVENTEEN etc... will do better than Blackpink and BTS.

I have loved Kard since they debuted. SNSD, Big Bang, Kard are truly my favorites of all time! Finally saw Kard in July 2023,fantastic on stage, adorable off stage. I may be one of oldest kpop fans ever, i am in wheelchair and my daughter took me to concert. Met them after, just kids, so sweet. Ty for this! ❤

I thought of Poison Ivy because of all the green and how she took him over. Green not only means sick but also fertility and nature. But can also represent natural decay. I liked how they said icky in a way that was almost like leaving the st off of sticky.

Hey! Super late to the video, loved your reaction as always. For Icky, they said in a recent interview with Eric Nam that the word "icky" in Korean means moss, so having green all over thw video and Jiwoo's look being reminiscent of Poison Ivy makes complete sense. For "You in Me", I'm so glad you liked that video. When I watched for the first time as I was starting to check out their music, it gave me strong Twin Peaks vibes because I wss in the middle of watching that show for the first time. And also, as a huge horror fan I really appreciated the dark elements they wove into the story of the music video. Your reactions and analysis are always super entertaining and informative, thanks for being so willing to discover new artists.

Also, You & Me is amazing. If you like dark concepts, Ash Island dropped Black Roses mv today which reminded me of the classic horror novel “The Collector” which is in sharp contrast to the other mv he dropped 2 weeks ago for this album.

About the name of the hotel in Spanish. “Apego” is used when you have a special feeling/ connection with someone or something. It’s not just to be attached, it involved deeper feeling for someone or something. For example: if you say that you have “ apego” for this plant… it’s because beyond the plant itself, there is a story that make you feel something special for it.

You in me always gets me. I am divorced and a domestic violence. The day i gave my husband the paperwork he asked for, he lost his shit and tried to keep me locked in the master bedroom and then once i got out dragged me from the front door nearly half way back to the bedroom and i knew i couldn't let him get me back in there, so i fought like a trapped animal and got out and ran and hid and called the police. That was the worst day into night of my life. I had nightmares for months.

I would love to see the age stats of KARD's viewership, because KARD has been grown since debut 😂 and everyone I've ever seen engage with KARD content has known what's up, lol. They've always engaged with adult topics, but this comeback in particular is definitely more heavy-handed than in the past. The whole mini-album is on this wave; they literally have a song called 'Fxxk You' and they say it with their full chest throughout the song. Love this for them and that their company is letting them have this freedom.
