What if you could reshape your future to get exactly what you want out of life? While it may appear idealistic, the influence of our thoughts, beliefs, and experiences on our future is profound. By consciously pursuing our goals, shifting our mindset, and nurturing a deep understanding of the realm of possibilities, we can initiate the process of manifesting the life we truly desire.
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with Dr. Tara Swart to talk about the power of manifestation and its impact on the brain. Dhru and Dr. Swart also discuss how to overcome old stories, how to replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations, and the first steps for getting started manifesting. Dr. Swart highlights the intersection of diet, lifestyle, mindfulness, and longevity and how these are key to getting our brains to function at the highest level.
Dr. Tara Swart is a neuroscientist, former psychiatric doctor, and senior lecturer at MIT Sloan. She is visiting senior lecturer at Kings College, London, and an executive advisor to some of the world's most respected leaders in media and business. She is the lead author of the award-winning book Neuroscience for Leadership and was named the world's first Neuroscientist in Residence at Corinthia Hotel, London. Dr. Swart is passionate about teaching others how to apply lessons from cognitive science to enhance everyday lives.
In this episode, Dhru and Dr. Swart dive into:
-Visualization and manifestation
-The role of gratitude in manifestation
-What fear-based media does to the brain
-Defining manifestation: what it is and is not
-How old stories shape the brain
-A mantra for overcoming self-doubt
-Cultivating awareness under pressure
-Merging meditation and mindfulness
-Creating an action board for manifestation
-Roadblocks that get in the way of taking action
-Lifestyle factors that contribute to manifestation and healthy aging
-Figuring out what you want to manifest
-How spiritual beliefs play into manifestation
-How to navigate grief and suffering
-Where to follow Dr. Tara Swart’s work

@dhruPurohit in case your audience is too young to know before the word "exercise" was acceptable, we actually made things--raising barns; tree planting; gardens; horses; community gardens and kept fit. Think about using these words to transform the actions for Earth of your audience instead of "non-productive exercise."

For those wondering why you cannot manifest…she said one most important aspect of the brain and body…no matter how hard I’ve tried to manifest, most the time it wasn’t coming to fruition because my brain and body were trying to heal the stress and anxiety my brain and body were experiencing. You must be above this like she stated to manifest. Heal yourself first where your feeling okay with yourself and lower the stress so you can start to manifest. Glad she said it because I understood it immediately because I’ve already experienced it.

Intermittent fasting and a good diet are also key to feeling happy and grateful enough to get the ball rolling, imo. My friend battles depression and can be thrown into a negative mood if Wendy's is out of a particular sauce to go with his spicy chicken sandwich; I try to tell him if I ate like that I might be spiraling downward towards suicide also. that's the "brain and body connection" which is the elephant in the room I believe...

I LOVE sharing this one story. I was told I was 100% infertile by a number of specialists due to Polycystic ovary syndrome and Lupus. Almost a yr later I was pregnant, completely randomly and had NO IDEA for 5 months - LOL!! Until my son popped out as a big bump! I was SO shocked and SO excited. He's the BEST thing that ever happened to me. I manifested him by wanting him but also giving up on wanting him!!! I did a lot of rituals and art work of childbirth and pregnancy. I wish abundant blessings upon everyone.

0:21: 🧠 Understanding the power of neuroplasticity and combining it with source and manifestation can help people achieve their desired outcomes by visualizing and acknowledging their achievements. 11:28: 💡 Manifestation is the process of setting goals and making them come true in real life through the power of the brain. 23:33: 🧠 Early experiences and beliefs inherited from childhood shape our neural pathways and have a powerful impact on our thoughts and behaviors, often unconsciously. 33:45: 🧠 The brain's neural pathways can be overwritten by replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, and it's important to understand the interaction between emotions and memories in order to overcome self-doubt. 44:47: 🧠 The brain's response to pressure and stress can hinder our ability to take risks and be aware in the moment, leading to a freeze response. 1:03:02: 💡 The concept of an action board is similar to a vision board, but with a focus on taking action towards manifesting goals. 1:06:43: 💡 Action boards are a tool for manifestation and neuroplasticity, but it's important to take action and not rely solely on them. 1:16:59: 💡 The importance of having a supportive friend group in achieving goals and dreams. 1:35:10: 🤔 When unsure of what you want, start by thinking about how you want your life to feel and journal to untangle confusion. 1:37:38: 🙏 The speaker discusses how her spiritual beliefs have influenced her life and work, including her journey of bridging science and spirituality. 1:48:18: 💡 The interview discusses the belief in reincarnation, the importance of taking mental health knowledge to the people, and the intersection of grief and manifestation. 1:59:30: 🎙 Dr. Tara Swart discusses the importance of playing to your strengths and the courage to pursue a creative path. Dr Tara Swarti is my new favorite person in this world ❤ and I'd love to add that I am a vision board enthusiast, and there are things I put on my boards that I thought were pretty or made me feel good, and I DID NOT work towards them or "TRY" to make them happen, and they came to pass. For instance I had a sweet picture of 3 fawns drinking out of a birdbath on my vision board, and 4 months later, I moved into a house that had deer all around the neighborhood (I had no idea and was shocked when I saw tracks!) and over the 2 years we lived there I ended up developing a soulful relationship with these incredible animals, and when they would have fawns, they would bring them over to show them to me... Also on another board, I had put a lot of jungle pictures and waterfalls, I usually put lots of nature pictures for beauty (this was last year) and now I currently live in Costa Rica. It sometimes feels like a miracle. I do many other practices, I'm a long term meditator, and constantly refining the words I use, mindful of the company I keep, the things I view, music lyrics have to be positive. When stacked together, all these things WORK! ✨ The world is trying to brainwash us, and we have to brainwash back if we want to live a fulfilled life... Thanks for reading ❤

I love that you asked what celebration looks like. This is something I’ve always struggled with. I was the first in my family to graduate college, buy real estate, move to a new city, and now, I’ve recently started four businesses while finishing my last year of law school. While I’m grateful for these accomplishments, it often feels like such a struggle that I find it hard to celebrate. I seem to have a constant tendency to focus on disappointment or feel bad about myself, even in moments of success.

Almost everyone, including the media, is anticipating a market catastrophe, and as a result, many are turning a blind eye to the opportunities in the market. I began investing in stocks and Defi earlier this year and it is the best choice I've ever made. My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you’re quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. In response to Tara’s statement about gaining health, (about 90 minutes in) or whatever basic need is most crucial for the person - and THEN manifest, I encourage everyone to realize we’re ALWAYS manifesting. 100% of the time. So the question is, are we doing it using conscious, deliberate, focused thought / or not? By choosing to use the steps so wonderfully discussed in the video, immediately focus your attention on your greatest need or desire now & USE MANIFESTATION to gain IT. To be healthy, financially secure, whatever your greatest need is, MANIFEST that. We’re not learning a new way to live, we ARE transforming who we are. Much love, ❤

Love this discussion!! For me this speaks volumes to me. Here I am 3 years out of dabce classes. Fallen behind on my craft, took a dance class that I bombed because of an injured foot. Did I feel discouraged being around other students who were younger and more talented than me? On scale here no!! Surprisingly not, because I feel in my heart I've been manifestating this for 3 years since I stopped. I pulled away from pursuing dance but in replace of that I've picked up several other business skills and other art trades that complement it, and Ive developed my social skills to thrive. So yes I might be a bit behind, but I trust my path because I manifestated everything to be here. 😊💖

Love, love, love the science! What I wanted to see in this conversation is those manifestations that happen without lifting a finger and can't possibly be a coincidence. A few years ago I wanted to give away art supplies. I planned to place a Craigslist ad, and assumed they would go to some starving artist. I visualized that I would love for the supplies to go to a nonprofit agency who had an art class for students and seniors. The morning after I placed the ad, I got ONE email. It was from a woman who worked for a nonprofit agency, and she ran an art class for students and seniors! How would Dr. Swart explain that?

The whole 'manifestation' thing can be so simple. I always wanted to live in my house, I used to see it on the school bus. But, not being greedy I said "live in" rather than "own". I have rented it for 40 years now. Time for a new one and I think my newfound self esteem will allow me to find one I can "own". I also grew up with a fella who saw a farm for sale in a magazine and 10 years later his grandfather died, leaving him a million dollars and co-incidentally the same place was up for sale. Point is, aim high, and sometimes fixing your self esteem is the first step. Don't let your parents'cruel negative programming stop you from your best life.

This was a great interview, thank you. But I have to add that it was very "mechanical", and less talked about the energy aspects, and the power of feeling. Probing manifestation, has also much to do with practice in the brain, but it has to be felt in the body too, i.e. we can analyze things to death, but if it is not felt in the body, it will not have the needed power i.e. thought without feeling associated to it, does not create the change. If you can only think it, it's a start, but when you can think and feel it, that is the start of transformation.

I've studied everyone of the law of attraction experts in the book,, The Secret and many others also. EVERYONE of them, 100% agree that we must take action, But they All say it Must ONLY be Inspired Action. Not just taking actions in an attempt to Make something happen. That makes complete sense. We are always perfectly guided to all accomplishments in life ,IF we keep our ego out of it. Following instinctive feelings is Always correct. Everytime I have gone against my gut feelings in life, I was Wrong 100% of the time. I'm 61, so I've looked back a long ways at how I took actions without instinctive guidance. The source of what created my body knows Exactly how to accomplish any goal I have.

“Action” is relative. I took action by looking at my stock portfolio to see that it was up EXACTLY the large dollar amount I manifested, at the exact time I meditated it for. I took “action” by going outside to receive another incredible manifestation because that’s what I asked for: “when I go outside…”. Taking action can mean many things and doesn’t mean you have to do anything crazy, or anything that requires much effort. If it doesn’t come easily or fast, it shows you have resistance.

The secret is to become magnetic to your desires - actions aren't necessary in most situations but you must believe that you will get what you want. I manifest whatever I want by just raising my vibration, meaning have as many experiences that bring you happiness/excitement and hold you desire in mind during those happy moments. Never chase anything as it repels it or delays manifestation
@kateashby3066
@kateashby3066 Жыл бұрын
That’s very true. The only reason anyone thinks that action is necessary is because they’re stuck in a 3D mindset. For example, I shared an incredible story with someone once that I received $7007.07 about 10 hours after I meditated on that figure (7000 and 7777 to be precise). I received it via my stocks and it happened at 7:07am. Instead of being excited that they could do that too, they got stuck on the fact that they don’t own any stocks and therefore there was no pathway for money to come to them. Which is of course not true. Those who believe 100% in this *metaphysical* law, could literally receive it by mystery check in the mail or coming across a bag of friggin cash on the sidewalk. It’s their resistance to HOW they will receive that screws with their ability to attract it.

At a naturopathic convention with my Aunt we had a speaker talk about the voice that is constantly in your head. His suggestion was every-time you hear the voice, what ever it is saying, then say I want that. It was amazing how quickly you realize how negatively you talk to yourself by the end of the weekend we had both completely changed how we spoke to ourselves and the changes in and around us were seemingly miraculous.

I absolutely love Tara! 🎉❤ I’m so happy she’s gaining more attention. I learned through facilitating Beyond Addiction that what we think of as the Stress Response (aka Trauma Induced) are now explanded as Fight, Flight, Freeze, & Fawn. People don’t realize that they “Fawn” from the space of “People Pleasing” to avoid conflict or rejection & abandonment. As for Meditation, anything can be considered meditation because all it is is “single minded focus” & again it “primes the brain neurons in Awareness of our unconscious thoughts behind the scenes” & in this Awareness we challenge it they’re true for us & how they’ve influenced us throughout our lives. Then, because “where Attention Goes, Energy Flows” we will see what we’ve been feeding & creating. And we know “Repetition is the Key to Mastery” (firing & wiring neurons) so it just makes sense that the more we’re Meditating as the “Conscious & Intentional Observer/Witness” we will really begin to deconstruct & Know/Gnosis ourselves to the point we SEE the Patterns around us & Life become fun again! All of this is simple but requires Discipline & Devotion to rewire to fire together & wire together Great podcast! Thank you! ❤

I don't understand why she says she doesn't believe at all that something couldn't manifest without taking action. Let me explain. Somebody may want something, and without doing anything, someone can just give it to them; they may win a lottery or raffle or even find that thing lying on the ground somewhere. The idea is that the universe aligns itself to make it happen. In my opinion, there is no difference whether the universe has someone actively taking deliberate actions, like working on a project to earn money to buy a motorcycle, or someone doing basically nothing, just going to a party and winning a raffle with a motorcycle as the prize.

It is an amazing video in which Dr Tara and Dhru talk about manifestation and the amazing fact is that the discussion is very well integrated in a web of knowledge which I think is not so easy to find these days when people talking about manfiestation are really just presenting rigid and superficial concepts. There is research done showing that taking naltrexone along with doing an activity you no longer want to do, will erase that pathway. I love what you are saying. And I have heard these things before. Where I get caught up is that every time, I read a book or hear a podcast or watch You tube videos is this. The people who give out this advice are usually well educated to begin with. They start out with a foundation of either education or money or something very supportive. But when you come from poverty, or you come from a lower middle-class family, and you don’t have a degree beyond high school - dreaming for a house or starting a business or anything of that nature - that I hear in these talks - it becomes even a bigger barrier to where you want to go. Also, if your race, nationality is looked upon as less than as so many of my family it’s a uphill climb. So even though I get the mindset and the talks you need to give yourself. I always come back to the fact that my family could not move into a particular neighborhood because they were not White. Or job promotions were unheard of. Even though my father had his own business and at one time my mother again it was seasonal work. My mom worked for the city until she decided to take a few years off and then my father was in a head on collision accident in which he died 2 years later. So, I am a very spiritual person a Buddhist. But as some point making a vision board about getting a better low rent apartment much less renting a house is not reality for me. I practice Radical acceptance everyday but its not going to take me out of my middle class living in a rat-infested building - high rent lifestyle. I will never move to the suburbs that is for White or Professional people. Great advise if you are making 6 figures a year. The rent in my neck of the woods for a decent place to live is about $2500 to $3000 a month. I can’t live giving all my money to the landlord

The brain education area fascinates me endlessly. This single moment is only 1% or our awareness (human rods and cones on receive 1 to 5 percent of the available light spectrum) yet its enough to keep getting new direction as we are ready to receive it.
