There are some interesting tidbits in this video: 1: Stefano Cerioni is coaching Deriglazova against Di Francesca, which must have been very strange 2: The stream operators thought Italy were so fucked that they actually put up that Russia had won the match in the display on the bottom at the end (6:19) 😂 3: Look at the look of ABSOLUTE FOCUS at 5:10 !! 😮

Regarding Cerioni he did the same for the Russian Mens Foil team as well in the 4-year cycle to the Rio Olympics. So yes many times the Italian and Russian teams did face off with the former Italian coach now coaching the opposing team. Hence also why the Russian team were one of the best teams during that cycle.

I believe Cerioni was the head coach of Russian foil team back then

@@christianalbertjahns2577 That's what I was saying in my comment above. Cerioni was the coach of the Russian foil team for both men and women following London Olympics 2012. He is the reason why the Russian teams were very successful during that period and still are even now. Cerioni now coaches in USA and is Race Imboden and Ysaora Thibisus' coach.

@@xDinomanx occasionally I've seen him coaching Di Francisca recently. I guess it's safe to say he doesn't coach nationally right now

Inna trying way too hard to finish it at times....she probably could've run more off the clock, considering how long some foil rallies take.

Agreed sam! I was particularly surprised at the end from 44-42 onwards that she was not more defensive. When you lose a string of points like that I think it's easy to forget that you are actually still up and still winning, definitely made that mistake myself 😅

@@OlympicFoil I have a phrase for that..."Put the shark away," because you're smelling blood. A great comeback, but my fave was actually team sabre at Worlds in Leipzig a few years back. Germany is up 40-27, and Victor Anstett puts together an 18-4 run against Max Hartung and won it! I imagine there was a LOT of "Ach, mein GOTT!" in the German box!
