Interesting. I don't see anything compelling here that would make me jump from my Omnipod/DIYLoop/iAPS set up, but nice to see other smaller options coming onto the market.

So excited! I have no interest in the adhesive, just want a smaller, lighter pump and full phone control. I noticed that Tandem put a sign up form on their website to join the wait-list, rather than the "stay up to date" sign-up that was there previously. Must be nearing launch.

Justin, How are you able to still keep your basals running while the Mobi is being charged on the remote charger? In that case the charger would need to be close to you.

The solution seems very simple, just do like many of us do with the X2, charge it when you take it off to shower.

@@christopherbell2840 Thanks for your input Christopher Bell. It always takes more time to charge my T Slim X2 than the time taken for a shower.

I need to ask if you can still charge and use it at the same time...can you do that with the X2?

@@diabe_tech Yes you can. I have a portable rectangular charger I can use to charge to the X2. They are both attached to a cable that fits on both the charger and X2 insulin pump. This doesn’t look like an option with Mobi.

Will there be a stand-alone controller so you don't have to rely on your smartphone? I work in a secure environment that doesn't allow personal devices, but I can bring in medical devices.

Your phone should be allowed then... They have you accommodate your medical needs.... Federal law. I've used my phone in areas that phones were not allowed numerous times.

This was asked by a different podcaster of Tandem's head of marketing. He said it wasn't the plan, but they've gotten enough feedback that they're looking into that now. So maybe? I wouldn't expect that at launch, though. I want the Mobi so badly, but desperately hoping I don't have to get an iPhone until they work out Android compatibility.

A misstatement by the tandem rep Ben , omnipod5 has ability to apply extended bolus via the controller This sounds like a good tubed pump

No that's incorrect. Control IQ is still the only algo that you can do a traditional extended bolus (in the US, at least. CamAPS has a feature that attempts to mimic one, though). OP5 can only extend a bolus in manual mode.
