You should use the outer needle cap to remove and dispose of the used needle .. to protect your fingers.

Is there a way to fix the button on the end that actually pushes the insolent through the needle? Mine has broken twice it doesn't push at all anymore so I'm trying to figure out how to fix it....push button.
