Math in this game reminds me of the old gluttony of elements deep delve setups, but every class has an analogous thing going on where you micromanage cooldowns and combos to be invincible-ish to deal with insane scaling in the game

When he talked about either being invincible or dead. That's exactly how PoE has been for 4+ years. You either are entirely immune to the game or you don't play it. It's sadly a plague that is in many games and it's god awful design.

The game is still bad, improved but bad, I like what you said about the Paragon board & you are 100% correct, I'll go one step further, I think the Skill Tree is a big issue, most classes are probably like this but feel Barb is the worst when it comes to no variance in builds pretty much every build uses shouts & the same passives. you might change couple of things out but it's all the same... the skill tree is too basic & simple their needs to be more choices.

Yeah, level 100 on my storm druid, about as maxed as i can get, storm and core dmg, pure crit, and my highest crit ive ever seen is 250k with sht survivability then i look at this bullsht and i see 40 nadoes on the screen hitting for 4 million. This games still got some serious balancing to do

The item rework is nice, I tried the season, played to lvl 65 or so and just got bored. I really don''t know what it is either, the mobs and combat really seem repetitive though. Also, why is the entire game brown? Really looking forward to Last Epoch 1.0 and POE2.

That looks ultra boring damn... Even the environments, even if the textures are great, are so bland.

Isnt that all poe tree is defence and damage? with extra steps so like increased accuraccy on the poe tree is just more damage without saying its damage or for example increased buff duration etc is just QOL stuff for more uptime on what? you guessed it....damage or defence... this could be sai about any arpg ever created that it all comes down to attack and defence poe just does a better job at HIDING THE FACT that it all comes down to defence and damage. Also poe players complaining about random 1 shots is absolutely mint.

What I find odd is that people seem to regard the Paragon Boards as some kind of PoE passive tree equivalent. They are not. PoE tree has EVERYTHING, including build-enabling or other "interesting" nodes. In D4 these functions are outsourced to Aspects instead, while the boards deal with "boring" stats (but also very impactful). So basically, if you put all the D4 systems (aspects/para/twig) together, you get a somewhat watered down POE tree. And honestly that's kind of neat: d4 can potentially get a lot deeper mechanically (with updates), but this segmentation allows it to remain less intimidating to beginners: just break a complex system into three and suddenly it's way more palatable. So no, I don't think Paragon Boards need a rework.
