That red Mirage would be a use of the ’Dino’ name 👍🏽

I really like Exhaust's design and concept, even if the design is just mostly Wheeljack. The idea of a neutral information broker during the war is cool, and I can already see him having good interactions with Swindle. Hope he gets used more.

I hope the Buzzworthy four pack this year is the last four Diaclone boys. Red Mirage, Reboost, Riggouras (or however you spell it), and Loudpedal. four deluxes, equal bad guys to good guys. It just makes so much sense.

I came up with a quick and basic if not cliched story for all of them at once. After the Ark was launched, a second ship also launched full of "Autobots" led by Magna Convoy/Delta Magnus. However they were sabotaged at some point by Loudpedal and Exhaust along with maybe red Mirage, blue/purple Hoist and red Skids (Reboost is red Crosscut and yes there are two red versions of this base mold). They snuck Zaptrap, Shothole and Salvo onboard for help. They managed to catch up to the Ark and the Nemesis only for the Decepticon spies and their allies to sabotage the ship before they were able to do anything to the Nemesis. The ship also ended up crashing on Earth and they were all similarly put into stasis. Sometime after season two and the movie they were found and awakened. Maybe this is also where Roadbuster, Whirl, the Omnibots, the Powerdashers, the deluxe Insecticons, Enemy, Freezon and Natron were as well. This ship was filled with unreleased decos and random G1 toys that weren't used in the cartoon. Road Hauler was meant to be on this ship too but went to the wrong one lol.

9:43 I still hope we get a generations loudpedal. Sure the most recent tracks mold isn’t well liked, but maybe it would give hasbro the opportunity to improve it. He’s also an interesting character and adds to the black autobot turned decepticon repaints. (Side note: if he ever featured in a story I imagine he would work well as an underling for soundwave).

I think he should do a follow up about micro change. After all it feels weird to do one without the other.

I am still waiting for my red Mirage, blue Hoist, Rigorous, Reboost, the other red Skids which I think they named Screech, Loudpedal, and Overcharge from the molds we got recently. I hope they do the Diaclone Insecticons as a Gen Selects 3 pack. I love my Diaclone homages!

Fun fact: Diaclone Corvette Stingray AKA Black Tracks, which MP Loudpedal is based of, was only ever sold in Finland by R-Kioski chain of kiosks. I also own the Masterpiece Loudpedal figure and a friend of mine owns the original Bkack Tracks toy. And yes I have held it and I do have pictures of it. The Black Tracks is a weird entitety because up until the early 2000s, nobody knew such a figure even existed.

I hope Riggorous gets a Generations Selects Deluxe toy.

at 23:50 - we should add some fiction for the various colors of the mini-vehicles that other countries got (blue Bumblebee, yellow Cliffjumper, red Bumblebee, etc), and red Mirage, black Ironhide, green Ratchet, blue Hoist, and the Earthrise line does need blue and yellow Sideswipe, black Tracks, and Delta Magnus.

My headcanon for Red Mirage is that he is a Decepticon hacker named Speedrunner. He's obsessed with gaming and is just the most obnoxious and petulant gamerbro you have ever met.

Speaking of making original fiction for repaints that didn't have any before... What about that Mutant Tigatron figure? I love the color scheme, I love that the head sculpt is based on the mutant head of the old toy but I think he should have been a unique character. I don't see the orange tiger with the mutant head as still being Tigatron cause the Tigatron we know never looked like that. I have my own idea for him in a cast of other Maximals and Predacons with little to no real fiction around them but I'm interested to know what you would do with Mutant Tigatron.

I don't like name Lift Ticket, so I just call him "G1" Salvage (who is originally from bayformers-related comics and had a toy back in 2007. And he's also red).

My backstory for blue Silverstreak: he is Bluestreak's lazy, good-for-nothing brother (hence why we never see him), the kind who blows into town for a few days, mooches off your sympathies, then blows out again, leaving you the mess.

As a fan of the diaclone figures as the toys they're referencing it's fascinating to hear new things about them, I don't often care for the fiction side of transformers but this was cool and brings new potential to the modern figures of them

Something that would be very cool would be Hasbro or Tekara introducing non car-robo Diaclone robots into transformers, like Robot base or Dia-battles. I think it would be a cool opportunity to introduce more cybertronians, or even human piloted robots into the setting.

Reboost is genuinely my favorite Skids repaint, and I swear I will be so upset if they don't at least use the Skids mold one last time to give us a proper figure of him. I don't care if it's a Generations Selects figure, just give me Reboost so I can complete the whole Skids squad.

I happen to have the Magna convoy figure, I also have the fansproject dia commander armor, So it was able to create my own version of Delta Magnus.

You missed Overcharge, the Blitzwing repaint. And you didn't touch upon the Shattered Glass uses of the Diaclone color schemes. They should also count too.

You know, I actually do have the red Mirage toy in its original Diaclone form (not KO). Comes with a repro box with all the missiles and diaclone pilot as well. I consider it the prize gem in my collection. I'd love to have some kind of official fiction that follows up on the piloted mecha origins of some of the others suchas lift ticket.

Originally Powered Convoy was going to be introduced in Transformers The Movie as Ultra Magnus, or at least his color scheme was supposed to be used for Magnus... it depends on who you ask.

It might just be me but part of me wants to see burn out and car robots side burn get together. Have the relationship originally start out with him flirting with her in car mode, not knowing she is another cybertronian until she talks back to him and transforms, challenging him to a race and she beats him and he keeps challenging her hoping to win her love by beating her in a race not realizing she is slowly falling for him. I want that kinda of relationship for the two of them xD

I think Hasbro/Takara missed an opportunity here. This was a chance to reintroduce Diaclone or at least the E-Hobby clones in a more coherent package. I may be mistaken, but most of these guys were given bios and background piecemeal. This guy here, that guy is now a girl there. But this could have been a chance to tell a story. Like a group of 5 as neutrals or Autobots up against 5 Decepticons or criminals. Crosscut is an ambassador? How about a tale where he's negotiating with a world to accept some Autobots as refugees. That these refugees have to adjust to a new world (not Earth). Or how these Decepticons maintain a foothold on some space station until some Autobots arrive. Something that can draw the charcters and their backgrounds together. As it is, the bios feels artificial. Because they aren't useful in any way. Repaints and redecos are fine, but without a story it's mostly fake and dry.

I wish there was a more clear full list or more info of the original Diaclone toys but what do you expect from a toy line from over 40 years ago and a completely different country.

I remember once coming up with an idea for a Botcon set based on Diaclone and Micro Change. Basically, it was characters from Diaclone and Microman universes crossing over into the main Transformers universe. The story didn't go anywhere beyond that, but I wrote up some bios to go with my toy ideas.

This just hits harder on yesterday's topic on how Generation Selects is faltering as there's still many Diaclone bots unrealized as it seems Hasbro is hesitant to release more due to poor sales. In fact there were no Diaclone releases in the Legacy Evolution wave except for Magnificus, but that's Micro Change inspired, and THAT's an untapped well to make Transformers fiction for.

I always make stupid head canon stories. For Clampdown I see him as the opposite Prowl. He's by the book, and follows rules to a fault. However, he's generally friendly and well liked, and strives to be the example of what a "Heroic Autobot" should be by first hand knowing some of his contemporaries are not as noble as they pretend to be.

The post-G1 Diaclone guys have gone downhill in recent years in my opinion. Like, I get that most of the Diaclone-exclusive decos were given Transformer identities in the early 2000s, but the new ones we get now are so boring. DK-2 Guard and DK-3 Breaker need actual names, dang it (personal canon: their names are Vanguard and Blueshift)! Reboost (vermillion Skids with Crosscut’s head) and Riggorus (yellow Trailbreaker) would be great characters to expand upon- make the former an ombudsmech responsible for sorting out human/Cybertronian relationships and make the latter a bland medic content with his blandness (think MTMTE Hoist) who fled to Paradron with Sandstorm’s group. Make red Mirage “Dyno”, an homage to ROTB Mirage, allowing for that character to coexist with more traditional Mirages. Make the jet/helicopter triple changer no one can decide the identity of his/her/their own character (perhaps a Mercenary faction member).

So, you’re telling me that there is a transformers legacy manga out there? Well, if it’s not TV shows, it might as well be Japanese exclusive comics because for whatever reason, Skybound doesn’t seem to be doing any transformers legacy comics.
