Dialight Countdown Pedestrian Signal Final Installation

Күн бұрынI picked up this Dialight 430-6479-001F Countdown Pedestrian Signal at a surplus store in Florida last year and thought it would be cool to get it working and mount it in my house.
I used a BASIC Stamp II with EFK-TEK RC-4 SSR board to switch on and off the four control lines (AC hot) from the independent icon and timer modules on the signal. Upon power-up, the countdown timer enters a "learning phase." The timer is programmed by flashing the Upraised Hand icon (whose hot is joined with a hot of the timer module). During the learning phase, the timer side is blank. On subsequent cycles, the correct countdown time is displayed.

Cool setup! I love having these things set up! They're a great conversation piece. For people's information, orange (or red) wire is for "Don't Walk", blue (or black) is for "Walk" and white is your shared neutral!

Sucks when they burn out like mine did now I just have the housing and don't know where to get a new one

Did the hand or the countdown "burn out"? If the countdown no longer works than all you need is a new capacitor usually they are 35v 15000uF caps. If the hand burnt out all you need is new high power leds. Or you could just buy a new insert on eBay.

If anyone has done this, which wire does the countdown get constant power? My countdown is separate from the crosswalk symbols. I was told that one wire gets power and the other wire gets the signal for don't walk and learns from there.

So I've got the orange white blue, How do I make the countdown happen?

I just picked one up and wanted to know what you powered it up with. all I have is three wires blue,white,orange?

@@JoeGrand You have an older dialight countdown module so yours will have 6 wires (red, blue, white-red, blue, white) better designs just have 3 wires (red,blue,white) you wire the both the same way just less wires to terminate. Red goes to the hand, blue or brown goes to the man and white is shared common (neutral).The first time you power it up it will not do a countdown (learning cycle) the second time and for ever as long as power is not disconnected from the module it will do a countdown the number of hand flashes per cycle also always has to be the same.
