this is very cool! where do you get or how do you build the actual cutting rope? i would like to build a smaller version of this.

If you view some of my other videos and read the comments you'll find more information on where you can get wheels (smaller ones too) and the wire. Also ideas about using an automotive hoist for the frame and mechanism to move up/down, saving you lots of fabrication time. You can't go too small on the wheels or the wire will break. You can use 4 small wheels instead of two large wheels like mine. If you have specific questions just ask. Good luck.

Hello excellent and creative.... Do you have an idea for making multiple cuts at the same time?
@GregsStoneYard2 жыл бұрын
You can buy a multi wire machine. If you wanted to make one, you would need a 50 hp motor (5 wires) or higher.

I am manufacturing an artisan cutter, for cutting volcanic stone how many revolutions per minute should the cable go or meters per second
@GregsStoneYard Жыл бұрын
Hello, for granite you should aim for 24meters/second. For limestone/marble you can go faster up to 30 meters/second. I'm not familiar with volcanic stone. The best thing to do is gear the pulleys so the wire runs at 24 m/sec at the specified RPM for the motor (example 1750 rpm), then use a VFD to control the motor. Using the VFD you can then vary the motor RPM up/down to fine tune the speed.

Hey man, i wanna change to wire saw, build it by myself. I think got all parts, just missing the wheels to apply tension on the wire. Where i can find them? Or from which material are they made? thanks in advance

Do you mean the large 1550mm (60") wheels? I purchased them from China, I have another video about them. Check my channel.

@@GregsStoneYard i mean they smaller one that You show in 1:50, what kind of rubber si that? Red line
@GregsStoneYard3 жыл бұрын
@@victorbocanegra6711 Those are 200mm wheels, also from China - $100-$120 USD each, from Hercules Abrasives. If you want to buy just liners, you can get them from here : fspu.en.alibaba.com/ size is 200*120*35.5mm, but you have to buy large quantity. They are a wear item, last about 8 to 40 hours of cutting.
