Thank you for the detailed video i just received the low profile cab protector and apparently we have the same problem with the provided pre holes, they hit the under cab support. thanks to your video i made sure not to drill the cover until i knew it would be ok. Bottom line i contacted Diamondback with my pictures and YOUR detailed video, they told me they would reach out to me very soon to resolve the issue. will keep you posted

First I want to thank you Rick for noticing that flaw in the design of the headache rack and thanks again for contacting diamondback and letting them know about tha flaw. I really taught this was only for my set of racks but this might be a flaw for everyone that purchase either low or full size rack. Happy you watch my video and you was able to see that part of the video, so that you wouldn't make the same mistake. I should've done what you did, contact them and let them be aware of the issue but since I solve the issue I was just happy to have my rack. so I appreciate your thought process on making them aware and maybe less mistake for others. Please keep me informed on what their approach will be or their response. Thanks Dareo

Hey EZ, so i just heard from Diamondback and their solution was to refund my acc $50.00 or send me a new one without the holes and i get to keep the one i have, so i just asked them to send me a new one, hopefully other fellas will watch your video and call them to address this flaw before purchasing, thank you again
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
@@rickg8587 oh wow, so they will send you a new low profile cab, gusset or hd tonneau cab panel? because once you make a hole it's now in the panel itself? Either way you still got them to send you something I bought mines from Autoanything i can do the same call up diamondback and make my complaint been maybe a year and a half now though.
@rickg85874 жыл бұрын
@@ezcare5075 i never did drill any holes on my tonneau cover panel "thanks to your video" since i bought the low profile cab guard straight from Diamondback i was able to deal with them directly and they are sending the new one without any pre drilled holes so i will be drilling the holes where they need to be ,in your case because you've already drilled through your tonneau cover, it may be a different scenario but i would call them anyway
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
@@rickg8587 ok, i understand now you told them ahead of time so they basically sent it to you with no pre-drill holes. Thanks for clarifying that. Yeah in my case they would need to give me new everything hd rack and tonneau cover.

Ez Care do you see any issues when you open the front panel? Any resistance from opening now that the rack is on there?
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
@@Soccer_in_the_210 no issues you just have to remember that it's now a little bit heavier than before but the gas spring work just fine still, because they were made with thoughts of the HD rack so they can hold the weight
@mikedadgamer3 жыл бұрын
Hello EZ Care, I have a question on opening the back panel and removing the gas springs to lay the back panel flush to fit stuff. Are you still able to do that with the rack installed or does it block the back panel from laying flat?

Thanks for video , is the rack good have you carried any heavy objects on it? Is the visibility good looking from inside truck?
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
The rack is good I have carried some stuff on my tonneau tied up to the headache rack and it was awesome. The visibility definitely change especially for reversing but that's with any mesh rack you just have to get used to it if you want that look. Overall love it, having had the opportunity to test the entire weight limit yet!

@@ezcare5075 No, I don't have anything yet. Just bought a new Sierra and need to cover it up. I know you're right on the head ache rack, as soon as you start pilling stuff on the cover you need it. Nice job on the videos, KZfaq has become my go to source for most everything. Keep em coming.

Nice video. You mentioned that the “pre-drilled” holes are pretty much useless huh? So does this mean that the guard cab will have a set of two extra holes? Is there a way around this? Did you try contacting DB and informing them of this? I’m thinking of buying the HD cover along with the cab guard and just wanna know what to expect. They offered to drill all holes for the cab guard for $25. That’s too expensive in my opinion for drilling 4 holes. Let me know what u think.
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
Yes you will end up with two extra holes pre-driill holes was useless for me. It will only make sense for them to drill it for you if they're sell you the tonneau cover and HD cab together so that they can drill the holes for you at the same time. What happen is that the two pre drill holes that was on the HD cab guard, once you line them up and drill through the tonneau it was too close to the support bar and no room for washers and nut, I expected them to be in the right place coming from factory otherwise I would have measure to make sure. Just dont let them pre drill you can do it yourself just measure and check twice super easy instead of have additional holes $25 too much plus it might be wrong position
@saul57994 жыл бұрын
Ez Care, awesome! Thanks for the advice. Another question that I had was: “ what did u use to cover the other holes?” Any issues with water going in? Thanks
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
@@saul5799 I use a small screw or bolt with a larger head than the hole itself and before I put the screw in I fill the hole with silicone and place the screw inside. I used the best silicone the only one I buy so its solid no water issues, for good measure add some under the tonneau cover where the hole is.

How heavy is that panel now? Do you remove them separately? Because I have the HD and that panel is like 40lbs alone.

Curious if you know what the two letters mean's where you had to drill the new hole. I think the letters where A and C.
@ezcare50754 жыл бұрын
I dont know what the letters are for but from the looks of it the letter A is pretty much where I needed the hole to be at in the first place. It might be a explanation for those letters but I dont recall
@STALKYNOTE4 жыл бұрын
I've been looking at getting one and read the instructions the letters and the X's are where the drill holes should go. I believe C is for this rack and the A is probably for the headache rack.
