Greetings from Scotland! An absolutely unique singer that you may only hear once in a lifetime, possibly many lifetimes! This was 15yo Diana singing in an amazing Russian project "You're Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage when she was 3yo. The guy who waited for a pause to press the button did it out of courtesy not to disturb the song. It is the famous Igor Krutoy! She is a natural dramatic contralto (VERY deep!) which is rare in females but exceptionally rare in someone so young! Diana also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones, so sounds like more than one voice when she sings, multiple voices sometimes! Diana was born way over in the far eastern side of Russia in Primorsky Territory, northeast of Vladivostok. Her adoptive family moved to Togliatti, in western Russia near the Volga River then after Igor Krutoy, (a famous (DIMASH?) composer/producer and the last guy to press his button!) gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow she moved there and still lives there! It made it easier for her to study at GITIS International, the largest and oldest theatrical State Institution in Russia. She has an extensive entry in Wikipedia now which explains her sad but inspiring early childhood. She is 19yo now and she has already sung in *7 languages, Russian, English, French, Spanish, German, Ukrainian and Arabic!!!* As you view more of her performances, covers and originals, you will see this is the tip of a giant iceberg!

I love the Chris Isaak version, as your wife does but Diana put her own twist on this song and made it much more mystical tribal otherwordly, no one else could do. Please, listen and react to her singing "Non, je ne regrette rien" riginally sung by the great French diva Edith Piaf. This song is almost 60 years old but never gets old.
