Thank you for this clip. I remember this visit although I must have been only 8 or so. Their motorcade passed our house on the way to the Sheikh's palace.

My late grandfather Abdalle held the esteemed position of Police Commander in Mugadishu during Siad Barre's presidency. He had the privilege of being a friend to Sheikh Zayed (may Allah have mercy on his soul), while my father served as a loyal royal guard to the Sheikh for many years. I have been fortunate to hear numerous captivating stories that highlight the Sheikh's remarkable character and draw parallels to the beloved late Princess Diana.
