I love Diana Ross. She was and still is an elegant woman and she will always be the original pop queen in my eyes. She put Babara in her place in this interview when she tried to make Diana Ross look less relevant than what she is. Even if she was not as succesful in the late 1980´s as she was before she was already a legend here and when you have had much succes for many years it does not matter that much if your albums dont sell that well or you dont get much airplay. Diana did establish herself as a pop queen and a diva early in her career and she has been that way since she was young and she is still in the media today and people respect her very much now. :)

@annettewilliams1891 Oh stfu. She has the same damn nose she was born with, how can you not see that? Her nose has always been skinny, it was never wider than it is. She's one of the FEW female celebrities who's had 0 plastic surgeries, and many black people's skin lightens a few shades as they age, it ain't a choice. I used to be extremely dark and 20 yrs later I'm a medium brown. Not everyone alters the way they look, some people are confident in what they were born with.🙄

I do not know Diana personally, but I do like her for her talent and for the person she has shown herself to be. What woman, in this day and age, can raise ONE child, let alone FIVE, successfully? Five children who love their mother so very much and protect her as they do? How can anyone be such a fake and fraud in public, and not be the same at home? I absolutely despise people who make disparaging comments about others when they have no real knowledge to prove what they say. Go away Yosraz15.

A good mother to me is one that prioritizes: quality time spent with her children; separating the work time/mode from family time/giving of her total mind and being available to her children when she is present! That mother, like many mothers is definitely Diana Ross; I have heard her say this many times in interviews and her children have said the same! They never felt slighted or had to compete for her time! It’s all about quality, not quantity, priorities and balance! You can tell that she took care of herself, so that she could take care of her children! So many mothers forget this! I respect her so much!❤️❤️

I went to see Miss Diana Ross at Deanza College in California. I was so fotunate to sit in her presence in the 7th row center. I brought a Woman of color that was just fired from her job of which she did not deserve... I could not turn my back on this Woman. I said, let us go out to a dinner of your choice and see a Mega Star... We left in friendship and kindness but to see Diana Ross, it was jaw dropping for me. When I was a child of maybe 8 or 9, I listened to a broken record player that had no sound, but I would put my ear down to the needle of Diana Ross and the Supremes... I listened to it so much and then the record player was just gone, I do not know where it went? They could have fixed it, but maybe they thought they should not. I do not know what more to say... but maybe 40 years later, I had the privilege to see Miss Diana Ross on Stage front and center. I Thank you... mark...

Correct! Barbara is being smart when she is pressing her lips together & nodding sarcastically, but unassumingly. Thus, Diana smartly zings her back unassumingly....so if I am a bitch, then so are YOU! In that era being Black & having a massive crossover appeal could get you disliked by some of your own for being not culturally authentic. Conversely, those in the dominant culture have felt as though she was challenging them & their ego. Yet, Diana can handle herself.

@Punkanelly LovejoyHmmmm, funny how those women are the ones who never made it as big as Diana. Mare Wilson? That old backing singer? Ha! The only claim to fame she holds is that she was once backing singer to a world famous superstar. Yes, a lot of jealousy there from women who couldn't lace Diana's boots. It's easy for Mare to be jealous because what exactly has she achieved as a solo artist since the days of the supremes? All she has is to hang on to the name of the group (even has to call herself "Mary Wilson OF THE SUPREMES) because without the group name, only a few would have a clue who she once was. "Mare Wilson: The NO-HIT SUPREME!!" Martha? LOL!! Have you heard that old fog-horn grunting and squealing her way around "Dancing In The Streets" and the other couple of hits she had? Scary, but absolutely hilarious!

@Punkanelly Lovejoy Mary was common and cheap enough to fuck anything that would. She admitted herself that she had someone to fuck her in every town she visited. Her vagina must be so big that you can hear her walking towards you from a mile away, with those flaps slapping together. Diana at least chose someone with some power even if he wasn't great looking. Have you seen some of the men Mary screwed? Flip Wilson? HELLLLOO? Must be the ugliest black man i've ever seen. Duke Fakir? JEEEZE!! That's so ugly it insults the privilege of being ugly! How did she have the energy to do everything, a long career, infighting within the Supremes, several award winning movies, 5 kids and countless shows. She didn't do drugs and she didn't seem to eat or sleep a lot.

She is wedded to the spotlight and being the centre of attention. It's her oxygen. Its what drives her. It's what motivated all her relationships. She loves her work. Image is everything to her. She carefully controls it. The reason some people call her a bitch is not because she's strong (which she is) but because in some instances it's true that she's not fair and she doesn't care. She has an "everything's fair in love and war" attitude and some people become casualties of it. She is ruthless and cut throat and won't apologise for her ambition. I guess there are many men who are the same but maybe they are not criticised this way.

globalcitizenn I agree and have heard this said of her before. She doesn't mind stepping on others to get to the top and she knew Claudette would mop the floor with her if she didn't stop meeting with Smokey.

Michael doesn’t act or talk like her. Michael and His brothers aside from Tito just so happen to have light voices. Jackie’s pitch is actually higher than Michael’s. Y’all take the her influencing him too far. She influenced his some of his vocal styling and that’s it.

@@animewhisperer1830 Michael doesn’t talk or act like her. He got those instincts from his mother, and his brothers ( aside from Tito) have that same soft spoken cadence. Y’all over exaggerate how much Diana influenced him to try to push that same “he wanted to be Diana” lies. They’re just two blk ppl who happen to be soft spoken and intellectual…doesn’t mean he acted like her. Michael’s mother had those same qualities about her and that’s where he got it from his mother.
