I think that’s a plus when you can’t hear her. As another contributor has said, she was singing flat all the time. Try it…that takes some doing. It’s great (I suppose) that she came and people could relive the old times but don’t say she sang well.

@spithedog2 жыл бұрын
An absolute legend, loved her since I was in my 20s ---- BUT ---- there comes a time when even the best need to retire, it's no excuse saying" but she's 78", she can't stay in key !! No longer a singer, more a museum display, just like me.
@raymondsawyer86262 жыл бұрын
Age is just a number, there is some people who have the mindset of being younger than their age and if they can still draw big audiences , why not , stay active you will feel younger, some of these big stars are extremely wealthy, I don't think it is about money in a lot of them in staying performing as long as they do
@soulgalorememories99212 жыл бұрын
I have to agree - she no longer can carry a tune, sadly - her day has gone, nothing to be ashamed of at all, it's amazing that she gets up on stage at 78 years old....but Diana should leave it there while people still remember her for what she was and not how she is in 2022.

Diana Ross has always had a very uniquely pitched voice for the beauty was an acquired taste. This is not American Idol she sounds like Diana Ross! This was enjoyable. I think you're flattering yourself with your Museum comment. Ms Ross is in a class by herself. And it's not over yet!

Sad to see (and hear)
@portcullis56222 жыл бұрын
When veteran singers and bands go on tour, the ticket prices should reflect their abilities. I am thinking of the Trades Description Act. If someone pays £150 to £200 for a ticket to see (for example) Diana Ross or Rod Stewart, is it fair to expect them to listen to the crowd or backing singers doing half of the song? Some of the ticket prices are scandalous. Age, alcohol, smoking, drugs and too much touring all take their toll on the vocal chords. I have seen a few singers who genuinely sound as good live in their late 50's and 60's as they did on record thirty years ago (Paul Rodgers, Natalie Merchant, Suzanne Vega) but they are the exception.
@joeclarke69732 жыл бұрын
Nobody forces anyone to part with their money . Pay and go or don’t it’s that simple
@portcullis56222 жыл бұрын
@@joeclarke6973 Ah, but if you pay to see a well known singer and they only sing a third of a song, that isn't what people are paying for. The prices should reflect that. I agree that if people are gullible enough to pay £150 a ticket, that is another matter.
@spithedog2 жыл бұрын
@@joeclarke6973 I would have gladly parted with my money to see and hear her BUT what I would have got for my money would have been criminal, no longer fit for purpose.
