Here's the final segment of Diana Ross' show on June 14, 2019 at the Wynn Encore Theater in Las Vagas, NV. Ms Ross usually closes her show with a rousing version of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" which Ms Ross recorded for her "Take Me Higher" cd.
This time, her amazing, beautiful daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross, who has found her own success as the star of several televison shows (Black.ish, Girlfriends), joined her mom and almost took over the show!! Tracee talked about her upcoming movie and had one of her cast mates join her on stage. At one point, she told her mom that she could sit down! LOL. At her mom's urging, Tracee took a selfie video of the audience that she later posted on her page.
Still the night belonged to Ms Ross as she introduced her band members and waved goodnight to her fans. You can see my friend, Joan, trying to give Ms Ross a beautiful bouque of roses that must have weighted a ton! And one may be disappointed when Ms Ross leaves the stage without the roses but this is really part one of this particular journey. Ms Ross returns to the stage for a Q&A and while singing the song, "Family" receives those flowers from Joan just before the show ended - which you can see in another video that has already been posted.
Every night at a Diana Ross concert may be the same but it's never the same old show. They dynamics are different every night. I only know one other performer who has this type of interaction with their artist and he's my favorite male artist...Michael Buble. I would love to see them do a song together live on stage.
