Diane, you go above and beyond to offer your viewers the best tutorials. The fact that you sketch most things out while we watch and learn from you says so much about you as a teacher. The Holly and berries you were gifted with this year - simply stunning and the colors of the leaves and berries are gorgeous! For whatever reason, I'm a complete failure at sketching Holly, but watching you do this so effortlessly offers me hope. I'm going to go in with confidence and believe I can do it! Oh, Diane - this takes me back!! "ALL" the way to May, when I first "found" your channel - because the first tutorials I did of yours were "How to Paint Cute Colorful Birds" and "Whimsical Watercolor Birds," both of which had birds that look just like these cuties! I was hooked and here we are - I still love these birds!

I have been practicing and practicing on my chubby birds and circles, it is still mostly hit and miss, though, so I am so glad to see this, Thank you again!… So much! …Do you do a Thanks giving type meal where you live? I want to make bird and fall leave name tags for the table, but since it is just a few young nieces and nephew ,the 2 cats and my …dog. I do not think they will be too picky!.. (My 7 year old niece insists we have name tags for the animals as well😂) …on the floor, by their bowls! … I had to insist on that part!😊) …so she will especially wants to help and do those with me !🎉

I just now finished this picture, and I couldn't be happier. It turned out great!! I think if I would have found you a long time ago I would have started watercolor before now. Hi Diane, Like a lot of other viewers I struggle with sketching, with the holly just now, can't remember do I go in or out for them, ha ha. I am going to use this idea of birds and holly for my Christmas cards, although I'll use Australian Budgie's for the birds, if I can find out how to sketch them. Hi Sharon, I understand how you feel about shorts. I tend to agree. That’s why we will never stop doing the long form videos. Just scroll past when you see shorts coming up. They’re not going to go away, because KZfaq is using them to compete with TikTok. But as I said, we won’t be stopping doing the long form and as far as I know none of the other art channels have any intention of stopping doing the long form videos either.

Did you find that those wonderful Kuretake paints are more like gouache than watercolor?

They can be used as both. They really do excellent wet in wet washes with minimal backruns and no hard edges!
