Diane!!! That is exactly what I'd like to paint! I'm going to watch this over and over and hope I can do it. You see, I live in flat Florida and mountains, hills, streams and tall pines are only something to dream about. Thank you so much for this painting!

You made great use of these granulating colours for the octopus. They added so much texture! Beautiful. I was a bit puzzled by the song and its lyrics, though.

Thank you for another relaxing painting time 🙂When you added the red to the mauve (purple-ish) flowers it reminded me of the Red Hat Ladies here in America. Groups of women gathered for lunch or brunch wearing their red and purple outfits with the huge red hats. Hence the name... Of course that was a thing several years ago. Some of those watching your channel may have to look that up! Interesting what comes to my mind when I see certain colors combined. Lol Many blessings to you!

At first, I got these Russian watercolors from my art class, then, I wanted to just get comfortable mixing on the palette, so I did what you are doing, things got muddy, so such joy just with primary colors! Have yet to use the whole set of my white dinner plate for specific palettes. I store it between the books on my shelf, quite easy to grab. I keep my brushes next to my bed wuth my water in a jar. Fun, fun!

Loved these wreaths and garlands. Thanks!. 11:53 @dianeantonstudio Emil Nolde was a fantastic colorist -wrapped in controversy. In 1941 his art was tagged as "degenerate" and he was forbidden to paint. He retired Seebüll, on the German / Danish border. He named his work "invisible paintings" due to the prohibition. However he managed to get hold of watercolors through his friends as these were easy to transport (and to hide, if there was ever an inspection). HOWEVER, he was also a *literal* card carrying member of the Nazi party and a persuaded and very vocal anti semite. This formerly concealed part of his life came to light in 2019 as the Nolde Foundation, which handles his legacy and Museum, changed directors and opened its archives for researchers. I learnt this at an exhibition in Berlin, where I live, called Nolde: a German Legend, at the Neue Nationalgalerie. Yes, he was named as one of the "degenerate" artists but big Nazi officials were fans and consequently he survived what others did not. Nolde personally pleaded with Goebbels (an art fan) for support 😮 I am very conflicted about Emil Nolde because I really like his watercolour work. However his land-, seascapes and flowers are also anchored in his political views of what the "perfect" version of homeland or "fatherland" should be. I have a hard time combining his beautiful art and the extreme authoritatian world view and discriminatory opinions he supported. I am also disgusted that he reinvented himself as a victim of after the war. 😮 Anyway...this not what I usually comment, but thought you might appreciate some extra info about this artist. Last but not least, Diane, I am enjoying these long form videos. I leave them running while I journal and very often Inout my oen aside and start painting along. The wreath with hops, elderberries and mice was so cute and elaborate. Thanks a lot for putting these together.
