Husqvarna S2800 Splitting Axe - First Impressions and Review
A more powerful Splitting Axe made for splitting larger logs. The axe head has a non-stick coating which gives less friction and easy entry into the wood and the head geometry is adapted to the splitting application of large logs. Handle protection and long life due to the stainless steel shaft protection. Balance point close to the axe head gives perfect balance and weight distribution. The combination of the optimized axe head and the light shaft concentrates the power into the cut which gives an easier split of the logs. Fiber-reinforced PA shaft makes the axe durable and robust. Hammer function for an easy and effective use of splitting wedges (no steel wedges).

Fiskars X 25 First impressions and Review
Traditionally, an axe has a wooden handle. Fiskars has decided that even an old type of tool such as an axe can be improved. The fibreglass reinforced plastic FiberComp handle of a Fiskars-axe is stronger than a wooden handle. Testing indicates that where a wooden handle breaks, the FiberComp handle can keep going without a problem. The axe head is integrated into the handle and will not come off of the stem. The handle absorbs vibrations and increases grip and comfort during chopping. Fiskars is so convinced of the quality of this concept that the axes are covered by lifetime warranty.
The axe head has a very smooth coating, which helps you to get it out of the wood easier. This coating is very durable. The price of these axes is relatively low, the service life and quality can compete with much more expensive competitors.
Each axe comes with an innovative plastic protective case that is easy to confirm, not sensitive to moisture and can be used to carry or hang up the axe.
The Fiskars X25 is a splitting maul with a keil shaped forged axe head. The axe head pushes the wood apart and helps to quickly and effectively cleave medium sized and heavy logs or firewood. This splitting maul is a full size chopper is intended for much and intensive use.
The look and feel of the Fiskars axes
Fiskars makes a distinction between axes for heavy-duty use and axes for the lighter tasks. The axes for the lighter tasks are enhanced with a completely black axe head and are mostly great when making kindling and small logs. The axes for the more demanding tasks are enhanced with a silver-coloured cutting edge that masks traces of use. The plastic sheath of the heavy-duty axes is orange to make sure it stands out, making it almost impossible to lose it.

Great comparison, husky also makes good saws for noodling!😆😆 I'm impressed with the Husqvarna splitting axe because of its pole for banging a wedge. Now I know why you split beech when it's green.

Was looking to buy one of these, every video I have seen so far agrees that the Husky is the better axe, thanks for the video mate.

Great comparison! I love the fiskers and have never used the husqvarna but they seem to be pretty evenly matched. At the same time you revealed some differences as well. I am more interested in the husqvarna after this! Keep up the great work my friend!

Excellent video showing the effort needed to split really tough logs and is a very good demonstration of the axes. It's the really tough logs that matter. I have split 100s of tons of tough logs and it's the tough ones that matter. Seen lots of videos of log splitting on easy logs but that is not interesting, anyone can split logs with no knots.

A better technique on big log even medium size is always split them from the side and working your way inward. Almost 100% of the time people slam right in the middle which more then often result by a stuck ax.

Hey Wooly Greetings from Tampa, FL. I enjoy your videos...just got an S2800 for my Father's day Present, not very sharp out of the Box. Can you do a video about how you sharpen your Husqvarna S2800??, should I take my big belt sander and start there then use a stone??

I see it's harder to take out Huysky from log then Fiskars. Log is too big for both axes. I would use spliting wedge first, than Fiskars axe.

Hello! Well done, I rarely see anyone with the right technique of working with an axe. The right technique! I don't understand those who hold an axe with their left hand and the right is auxiliary, but you have to walk with your left hand on the handle!
