_ TheBigPig _ not only that but it makes sense to fuse dog days and the last straw together (Cause thats what they did) The books practically bleed into each other and tbh last straw was the only book to really heavily focus on his dad, in the other books he doesn’t really do much other than just tell everyone what to do. Not to mention the movies had the theme the first being about greg and rowley, the second being about rodrick and greg and so it makes sense they give this movie to the dad considering he gets the least amount of attention in the books Odds are if there was a faithful 4th movie the next one would’ve focused on greg and his mom rounding out the 5th movie being about him and manny TL;DR theme wise i think this was a good idea and it works

@@andresreynoso7254 ye, I won’t lie and pretend like i used to be peeved by how the third movie wasn’t like the books. Growing up and seeing so many reboots and adaptions of old work, from stuff like marvel movies to this; i’ve begun to appreciate film adaptions more when they actually bother to try and weave something new rather than just plainly just retell and already told story beat for beat. That’s literally the point of an adaption and what separates them from retellings. Getting mad that something isn’t source accurate can be a dumb critique at times when its clear that the changed were made to better fit the new medium it was being adapted. What works for books obviously won’t always work for movies, and i think thats ok.

Veoloux I was that young when I watched the movies and I also liked the live action parts, when I saw the book version I thought it wasn't as good compared to the movie version because it had the lack of the camping at the end.
