4 Weeks after playing our summer food plots, here is an update on our first few fields we visited!

I have same issues. Plenty of rain, quick germination. Stunted growth. Did another soil test, PH is way way low. Going to lay down Plot Start to raise pH, see what happens. If no progress in 2 weeks, going to replant in Buckwheat. My plots in pine land, same as yours.

Yeah, its dry for us, I did replant 6 of our fields, haven't been back to the property yet to see if the new replanted seeds took, but praying for more rain that's for sure.

I think as it starts to rain on a regular basis it will grow, and the wild grasses also. Keep up the good work.

I’m considering buying a genesis 3 so very much appreciate your videos. I am curious did you soil test and add any lime or fertilizer?

The Genesis are some great equipment! I can't wait to do our fall.planting with ours to see how they do! We did soil samples about 3 years ago and this year as well. We did see improvements from 3 years ago because we stopped tilling and we added lime to a good number of our fields over the past few years because of our soil test results. Also we would throw 13 13 13 fertilizer on every field every time we planted no matter what the results said. Now, this year we are changing practices, we didn't add any lime because our results showed our PH was manageable, I wouldn't say it was perfect, but it was within the range we were happy with. Also with fertilizer being so expensive this year, we made the decision to not put out any this year and see what happens. Thanks for your support Lee, if you have any more questions fill free to ask!
