Bubba's World w/ James Stewart

Күн бұрын

Another week another Rewind!
The 250 class got spicy with a red flag restart nearly halfway through the first moto and we saw Deegan go from what looked to be a guaranteed win to a crash in the first corner; was he too aggressive off the start or where did it go wrong? Justin Cooper seemed to get back to his old ways and have two strong motos but they still were no match for Hunter who cruised his way to another neck burn.
In the 450 class we were looking to see if Jett would continue to push for the perfect season after clinching the Championship last weekend at Unadilla and we were treated to a great second moto showing when his teammate Chase Sexton came form behind to challenge Jett for the win.
As always sit back, relax and Welcome to Bubba's World 😎🌎

I love that Chase is risking it all to pass Jett even if he crashes. It's way more entertaining than taking second without a fight but I don't think he's faster. Jett kills everyone in qualification so I think he would be faster in the race as well if he was willing to risk crashing as much as Chase does.

Chase has faster segment times / calculated fast lap BUT he’s racing with the intent to catch up to Jett / riding harder. By contrast, Jett is riding within his limits and only doing what needs to be done. I think the challenge for Chase is the only way he can catch / match Jett is ride at his limit, and thus makes more mistakes

That wasn’t in 15 minutes and also wasn’t against anywhere close to the level the competition is now. Guys in 10-15th aren’t far off the top 3 guys times now. He was also Almost matching the leaders times while coming through the back of the pack… that is hard af to do for anyone. The kid ran a lap time 2 seconds faster than jetts fastest lap and yeah, different motos/track, but 2 seconds is a lot. Like him or not, nobody can deny the kid is the fastest out there right now and if he can get rid of the little mistakes, which most ppl make as a rookie, he is going to dominate the 250s the next few years similar to how Jett is dominating the 450s this year.

In his Vlog Deegan said he thought he had the holeshot and then Vialle came out of nowhere from his POV and cut the inside away but by then he was full send and couldnt brake in time. When you look at it it matches up; when Vialle cuts inside you can see Deegan slam on the brakes but his front tire hits the burm and his back tire slides out. Also the crash broke a quarter of his rear spokes so to even finish the Race let alone climb back to 16th matching leader laptimes is impressive.

@@sendboi_9726 Great comment! Personally I think we have only seen the very best of Jett once this year! Moto 1 at Buddy Creek! Sexton made a mistake but other than that Jett started about 10th and passes all the top guys, on a hard to pass track IN 15 mins with some of the most unbelievable passes!! Jett knows that he only has to do 21’s consistently and Chase will more than likely tip over! Also this level of race craft in a rookie season is special!! Most people would push and try to get a gap but Jett is happy to just be fast but consistent in front of Chase and that’s enough to win! Listen to RC always say “I’d let him pass cause I hated someone behind me”!! Jett doesn’t seem to feel the same pressure as the “goat”! It’s still early in Jetts career but fuck, what a start!!!

I actively follow alot of Car & Motorcycle racing & have the least issue with the AMA Supercross & Motocross governing body of rules, that is until now, I was & Still am convinced there is NO way 15 minutes into a race after you get out to a comfortable 10 second lead & a red flag puts the entire field back to even, he was probably about to get into lapped riders only to get clipped on a rogue restart (Big thumbs down!)
@mikegary6183

Mark out the spots on the track where medical needs to cross and hold the riders there in line, as soon as the "caution" flag goes out no passing allowed and no jumping. Making them do another gate drop halfway through the race where the leader is 5s+ ahead of 2nd isn't fair.

Much will depend on how the third Aussie will perform and Hunter not having another brain fart re: last years attempt to take out a rider. You could see that Jett was not impressed about Hunter's brain fade as they may have cost a second place for the Australians. The US are definitely in contention for a podium but so are the French, Belgiums, Dutch and Spainish.

You could tell chase got in a hurry/excited coming down hill and thought he had it in 1st gear but was in neutral.. he fell because he was way forward expecting to explode that bottom berm.. you could tell when he picked the bike up and took off you could see him put it in 1st and the bike lurched forward a bit.. definitely in neutral and definitely why he fell..

Chase isn't faster than jett....!!!! Looking at race segments I can see what your saying... But jett just manages the hole race...does just what's needed . If chase was faster he would out qualify him Which he can not......
@davidbiagi2932

Chase has out qualified him… and qualifying doesn’t mean Jack shit. Chase has had the fastest lap in a lot of the motos, so technically he IS faster than Jett, he just can’t stay off the ground. Chase was a few seconds behind him, crashed and was then way behind him, and then caught up to his rear wheel, multiple times. If chase could figure out how to stop washing the damn front, Jett wouldn’t have a perfect season, but it is what it is.. (btw, jett is my favorite 450 rider right now, but facts are facts).

I’m not a pro rider and anything you speak about I instantly understand what you’re saying and see stuff the same way. But anyways my question is Sexton said when you trained him you would just tell him to do something and he didn’t know what you were asking him to do or some bs. I feel like it was definitely family drama because you could explain something to someone that has never watched Moto and break it down till they get it… im picking up what you’re laying down son!! So Sexton definitely can or could lol

The 250 restart hmmmmm was a little confused on why it wasn't an inline restart to start with. The only winner in that restarted race was Justin Cooper because there was only 2 people in the championship race and prior to restart Cooper was 2 positions behind Lawrance. So from that prospective Lawrance probably would have extended his lead over Cooper. It sucked in regards of results for Deegan and Shimoda but the reality is there not in the championship fight.

The rewind is Great. You get a chance to watch alot more of everybody and the race itself. Can't do that while watching the race. BUT I HAVE NEVER LIKED CARMICHAEL IN THE BOOTH. BECAUSE BEING THE GOAT IN A SPORT AND THEN GETTING IN THE BOOTH TO ANNOUNCE ON THAT SPORT IS TOUGH. RICKY WOULD LIKE TO SAY ALOT OF THINGS HE CAN'T SAY. LIKE WHAT OR HOW HE WOULD HAVE DONE IT. OR DO IT. PLUS HE REPEATS OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON THE SAME TOPIC. BACK IN THE DAY WHEN RICKY WAS WINNING EVERYTHING IN AMATEUR RACING. LORETTA LYNN'S AND EVERY OTHER NATIONAL. AMATEUR NATIONAL IN EVERY CLASS. RICKY WAS COCKY WITH A SMART MOUTH. TELLING THE 125 EXPERT CLASS RIDERS THAT HE WOULD BEAT THEM ON HIS 80. James is and will always be one of the fastest ever in Motocross also. But he just got game in every area or arena that he knows something about. He just talks better cause he got game. Being the gift of Gab also. Ricky doesn't. Never has and never will. Let him do his deal with Villipoto and get him out of announcing MOTOCROSS RACES

Solid ride for sure. Dax just has to learn to be more aggressive. If he gets a good start he can run up there in the top 5-10 no problem, but when he gets a bad start he doesn’t seem to have that “dog” in him like Haiden or Hunter or those guys that can. I’m sure a lot of that is just because he’s young and just getting his feet wet and doesn’t really have any expectations. Be interesting to see what he does next season. I think he should be a solid top 5-7 guy

Haiden on that restaurant said he didn’t see Tom until it was too late. Obviously anyone would’ve been upset if they were leading by 9 seconds and then have act like it never happened. But that’s not why he went in so hot on the restart.
