I live in England and squirrels are really common in like 'foresty' areas. It's also quite commmon where I live and personally, I don't think they're that bad.

How did you learn new techniques of drawing without "copying" someone else's style? As a parent, I want to help my child develop art-wise. My child is 5 years old and obsessed with drawing. Like seriously, 2-3h drawing non stop. We have a hard time keeping up paper wise.

Its impossible to learn how to draw without either copying other people or copying things you see around you practicing is not wrong. Neither is picking up a fee things here and there but takeing a charakter someone has designed and use it for your own work but call it your charakter that is plagiarism. Learning haveing fun and plagiarism isnt the same. It always hurt my hesrt when prople think its wrong to draw say fanart of someones charakter or like i like how that person draws eyes i wanna draw eyes like that its not wrong guys only stealing whole art is wrong and claiming it as yours. How do you think these people found their style? By just draeing from imagination? No they probobly drew allot of pics from their favorite tv shoes or books and aftrr a while all of those idk 5 different styles meshed into 1 new style. Its hard to be unique unless youre the person wvo invented the fire or wheel. But its hard to make a new weel that no one else necer designed before.

Drawing from life or photographs you take yourself will let you develop your own style. Another handy method is to combine what you like about two or three source images or study several artists for inspiration and learn from them. (Also I would not worry too much about style. It’s overrated. I am tempted to believe it is a lie. Look at Van Gogh’s paintings or Picasso’s and you will see a wide range of painting and sketches throughout their lives.) Copying is a valuable way to learn. When artists share early childhood art, most are heavily inspired by Disney, manga, comics and the TV shows they watched as kids. So I wouldn’t prohibit copying if that is what your kid enjoys right now. Later on you can read up on attribution and copyright stuff when kidlet starts entering exhibitions and school competitions. As for paper, try cheap newsprint, paper in a ream or paper that is on a roll. Hobby lobby also has $5.00 artist loft sketchbooks I really like. It won’t handle wet media well but it works great for just about everything else. :-) thanks for supporting your kid’s artistic journey and good luck! Experience: painting major, graduated.

I always amaze how Minori like could draw using any style like western style, anime style or manga style and this realistic style. I really like whenever she drawing since its motivated me to just draw and be me when drawing 🙂 Oh and its really useful to know any kind of tools or paint that im not know ☺ thought i dont know if my country had it or not lol
