People generally underestimate Bug Mom at this point. To be honest, I was underestimating her all the way till Luffy comes face to face with her strong underlings. But you would already know that Big Mom is in the same league as Whitebeard, Shanks and Kaido. Imagine a Whitebeard minus the sickness.

Ohoho, you both say some interesting things in these episodes! Going to be exciting to see your reactions to the New World arcs. People talk about the subs being "wrong", but really, when it comes to the names there are just a lot of possibilities that are all acceptable. Lingling, Linlin, Rinrin are all possible ways of writing Big Mom's name. In fact, even Big Mom could be romanized to Big Mum, Big Mam, or Big Mom, none of them are strictly wrong because of how it's written in Japanese. But since in the manga we later see it romanised as "Big Mom" (like that, in latin letters), most people have settled on that version. So if Oda has written it like that, doesn't that make it the correct version? You'd think, but it's not that simple. There are instances of him romanising the same name (not Big Mom's, but other characters) differently on different occasions, for one, but more generally, to him and people who read it in Japanese it doesn't make any difference so they'll often just pick whatever without thinking to much about it. So yeah, this creates a bit of confusion for languages usign the Latin alphabet, lol.

It's about how it's pronounced. Saying mom vs mam sounds very different. Big mam sounds a lot more stupid. Linlin also sounds a lot better than Lingling and that's how the anime pronounces it.

@@Gopal__S They say Mam in the anime, that's probably why it's romanised that way here, since we haven't seen it written down yet. In Japanese, it's written マム (mamu). I've heard it's a way to say mum/mom in som dialects in Northern England, but I'm not British so I don't know for sure. I also prefer Linlin, but the other versions aren't wrong, is my point. All three versions would be written the same way in Japanese (リンリン). In Japanese there's simply no difference in pronunciation when it comes to the three different versions.

@@desolateleng9943 They don't say Mam in the anime tho. Well maybe you pronounce the words differently, but for me without looking at subtitles, you can hear the characters very clearly calling her big mom in the anime and then the sub says big mam which would sound completely different.

Yup the vibe , pacing (don't start guys , i feel the same with even the shorter manga version) , and me finding Hody to just be a lame junkie instead of a really cool main villain , cover the reasons why it's my least favorite arc (with Davy Back fight) . i'll keep arguing this , the villain can still make or break a OP arc ... people often talked crap about Skypiea , but to this day , despite being obviously surpassed and in the rear mirror , Enel was still cool and impressive ... unlike Hordy . Even Moria for all the crap he gets , because of his look and voice , was still an impressive DF user and all around menace . Hordy took drugs , then some more drugs , then all the drugs , he ain't no Arlong lol
