I’m a little biased since I own the rebel and it’s been great but the Ford is well done. Makes me happy to see that the off-road community isn’t getting left out with this stupid push for bland, energy efficient vehicles nowadays.

That's the issue with EV's. Their too Bland 💯. Tesla Plaid... They would of gotten more worldwide customer's if it actually looked sporty. They could of made it more energy efficient instead of optimal performance. But why did they make it look so boring like a Ford Fusion. No Disrespect but it's the definition of a typical family sedan. Not alot of performance but enough to get around and safe. The Tesla could of done some minor Visual changea and than more people would actually want it. Appearance is important to me and to most. If I buy a sports car than I want it to look that way. Some irregular not majority customer's with plenty of money will still buy it cause it's basically a Sleeper EV. Which is cool in its own way but it's already becoming legendary.

@BeanoNoir

Theoretical breakdown as follows: 1. Ranger 2.Super Duty 3. F-150. The Ranger is smaller, lighter, and easily owns the other two on breakover angle. The F-150 and Super Duty have the same problem; width and length. The advantage of the Super Duty is that it has a better suspension suited to traversing rocks and significantly better traction owing to it's weight and larger tires. Now, if it's traversing soft sand, this list changes, favoring the lowest mass, with the least aggressive rubber. For overlanding, both the Ranger and F-150 top the list owing to the ease of replacing tires as both tire sizes are ubiquitous and can be found at any tire shop. Finally, cost to run isn't significantly different between a Ranger and F-150, mostly physical scale is the biggest difference, giving the clearance nod to the Ranger, but the cargo volume to the F-150. They even take the same amount of oil, roughly the same payload, and very close to the same city fuel economy. The Super Duty is expensive, all the time, with everything. Capacity dwarfs the others, so that beyond anything else should be the only reason to go this route, if being fiscally aware.
@MrKEMills
@MrKEMills 2 жыл бұрын
@@BeanoNoir I like your analysis. However, if the Super Duty had the 7.3 Pushrod V8, the reliability would be a lot better than both the F-150 and the Ranger due to turbo and cam phaser issues present in the Ecoboosts and the questionable cylinder deactivation technology present in the Coyote. The Super Duty also has stronger components to better suit it for heavy duty jobs.

I have a 2019 ram rebel I bought for my wife new, and my family absolutely loves it! Smoothest truck I have ever drove or rode in. Always get great compliments when friends and family who ride in it, sold my wife's dad on wanting to buy one too. I've had one recall for floor mats, I do all the services myself, and I don't have the eco torque. My wife loves driving it, and she doesn't usually let me drive it since I don't let her drive my truck, lol. When I do get to drive it, very comfortable, and I don't wanna stop. I’ve owned them all…F-150/FX4 (EcoBoost), Raptor (6.2), Power Wagon (6.4 Hemi), Tundra TRD PRO (5.7) and now the Rebel (5.7 Hemi). All of these trucks were good at what they were designed to do. In terms of overall ride and comfort…the Rebel is the the best. Best Off Road Capabilities, the Raptor followed by the Power Wagon and the Tundra/Rebel come in tied for 3rd respectively. When it comes to bang for the buck, the Tundra & Rebel take the cake…they can do everything the other trucks can with the exception of the Power Wagon (1/2 ton vs 3/4, factory off road options, etc). The 6.4 Hemi is a gas gulper and doesn’t tow like it’s Cummin’s brethren. If you want to tow, get a diesel…half tons can do it but they don’t like it, even with air ride in the rear.

I'm Toyota and GM owner for the last 25+ years. Was Ford before that. I generally buy whatever fits my needs the best at the time and keep pickups for 8 - 10 years. I have to say this F150 Tremor exterior is stunning and the specs seem great. Only problem is I only buy extended cabs and not crewcabs because a bed length of 6.5' is far more valuable to me than back seat space. Across all the brands, many of the pickup trim levels that I want are only available in crew cab, so that crosses them off the list, which is a shame.

I got to drive a new F150 Tremor High model yesterday. My friend picked it up and drove over to my place even before going home. I live in the country in the mountains and so we did some mild to moderate double track. There was no test for the truck as designed, a FX4 would have done the same trails. We used the locker a little but he also has the Torsen front end. I feel it will be every bit as capable as the 2019 Raptor I used to have except on high speed prairie trails. The power is more than enough and was never an issue, even on the highway at 75 mph, 130 kph. If they built it as a SuperCab, I would have ordered one. I have a Lariat SuperCab 5.0 on order. It will become a designated camper unit with a Project M canopy on it. I will lower the rear end on shackles to level the truck. I won’t need any more capabilities than that where I will take it. If I want to go deeper into the woods, I have a 2021 Bronco Badlands 4 door. To each their own. Brand loyalty has a huge factor in these trucks appealing to a buyer. I’m not a Ram fan. I have owned 2, a Dodge power wagon from the 80s that was really just a 4x4, not like today’s version and the power train was fine. The box split tight above the wheel wells because we were hauling loads over rough terrain that were near the maximum payload. The body fell apart on that thing! The other one was a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Express Double Cab 4x4. It was mostly loaded, but in the first 5 months I had it for just over 2 months as the issues it had were common, but replacement parts were not. I didn’t own it a 6th month! Hahaha. Traded it on a 19 Raptor SuperCab. Lost a small fortune on that one. My favourite truck is my 67 C10 2wd followed very closely by my 1990 Chevy 454 SS pickup with only 40,000 km on it (25,000 miles). It rides almost as nice and my Ridgeline.

Andre, you have definitely mastered the art of a thorough overview of the vehicles that you present! Well done. Now the Tremor vs. the Rebel. Given the distinction made by Andre, in my opinion, the Tremor appears to have a slight edge. However, the proof is in the pudding - we've seen the pudding but haven't been offered even a sniff of what it tastes like! A meager analogy but to be more specific - we want more than specs, we want to see these bad boys battle it out in the real world of off-roading. A trip to Moab or other very demanding off-road trail is the only true way to evaluate a vehicles off-road capabilities. There is no way to tell how much the frame may flex or the suspension will push the airborne wheel to aid with traction in a difficult situation. There is also no way to estimate how well a limited slip in the front will assist when the opposing front wheel has lost traction. Also, if the total suspension package is not setup correctly, you can either get brutalized like riding in a 1970s edition of a Dodge/Ram 3500 or be treated gingerly like a Baja truck on a lightly rutted dirt road. BRING IT ON!!!

Have you ever driven a 3.5 TT? The Coyote is a tremendous engine, but the 3.5 TT produces 500 ft of torque the majority of which will hit before 2000 rpm and it carries it all the way to the red line. In comparison any NA V8 out there has to rev to 5k before they get that kind of torque. I've owned V8's, the 3.5 TT's is in another capability class altogether. People say the TT won't be reliable, however the 3.5 TT is able to produce 90% of it's torque below 2k rpm, vs. an NA V8 must rev to 5k, in a hard use scenario that 3.5 is not working near as hard as the V8. I have the 3.5 it's been rock solid, I have multiple friends with them one of them has the cam phaser issue took it in and Ford fixed it. I will never buy a non-turbo truck again, so of Ford makes a 4.0 V8 or even a 3.5 V8 TT I'd be interested but the 3.5 V6 TT is currently the "one engine to rule them all" in the 1/2 ton truck class in my opinion.

Love the upgrades to the f150 tremor. Ram, when they first came out with the hemi many folks were very interested and swayed by old style motors with the thought of a very fast motor. Not to be. The only motor which they finally built that could outrun an ecoboost or even compete with the 5.0 Ford was the TRX (at a hundred grand) let’s not forget the trx had to have full time all wheel drive to do it too. The tremor is a nice mid range truck- I’d love to have one over my current 2018 screw max tow. I can say that while I’m not an exhaust man- the tremor with the ecoboost is one of the nicest sounding exhausts I’ve heard on a 6 banger… while this truck is very very well equipped I’d love to see it with a slightly lower MSRP. Dang trucks are just getting too high priced. In the end I love the Tremor as equipped and it will be interesting to see what they compare it against. In all honesty I think either of these trucks would do what ever needs to be done from taking you down tote roads hunting or fishing, towing a trailer, camper, or boat, hauling cord wood while towing a trailer full behind you, to taking you to remote places or a wedding. It's a matter of preference. That said, in my opinion, I think the ride in the Ram is better and the Hemi makes it sound as good as it looks. If you add on all the extras available on either of them, the cost is almost screaming "don't use as a truck"! Which cancels out the usefulness of those amenities. Then there's my one other thought: Cost of total package, what that truck will look like in 15 years, and what it will be worth!

I love that both trucks still offer real buttons and knobs for the A/C and radio controls. But I like Ford's knobs over the buttons for the A/C controls myself, but that's just personal preference. Either way, like that they didn't put those things on the touchscreen because that's cumbersome as heck, not to mention downright dangerous since you need to take your eyes off the road and look at what you're touching if it's on the touchscreen while knobs and buttons you can do everything quickly by feel without ever taking your eyes off the road.

I’ve never been a GM fan(for good reason). I like ford and ram. It blows my mind why people would take a chance buying GM with their displacement on demand\active fuel management they’ve had since 07 I think. Ask anybody that works on engines, those things have major issues. And before somebody gets on here and says “I’ve got 100k on mine and it has no problems”…. It probably does. Some of them blow up before 10k, many of them you can’t tell unless you open up the engine. But if I want to drive a truck 200k miles, I’m not going GM

Why "for good reason"? All I've ever owned (7 vehicles) have been dodge, ram, jeep. No issues. Fantastic products . Best looks.

@@vinuezaer some people have had problems with them, just like any other brand. Take care of it and it’ll probably last you a long time.

What's the good reason? GM is garbage compared to RAM and Ford..let's be honest here.

@@JoeJacksonGT3 agreed. Many people get a good GM truck. But many don’t. 2 guys I work with had their Silverado dashes crack before they were 4 years old. Every company makes cheap plastic crap, but GM seems worse. Oh well, drive whatever you want, I’m just saying I won’t take a chance with GM

That Tremor is ALMOST everything anyone could want, but a V8 option would bring it to perfection!

Just bought a 23 tremor with the v8. The best truck I have owned so far.

I have a 2019 Ram rebel and I love it. I like the tremor and how it looks, but I prefer the V8 and I still think Ram interior is the best in its class.

I like everything about the tremor better except the v6 lol. I know the EB is more powerful than the 5.7 hemi, but a truck with a good old v8 grumble never gets old.

I'll take that 500 ft.lbs.of torque over that exhaust grumble

I’d go with the f-150. I had a 2021 Ram rebel ecodiesel. It caught on fire for no reason and now Ram refuses to even talk to me. It was still under warranty and Ram told me to pound sand. Never buying a ram again. I just put an order in for a tremor.
