Although Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious had long plotted the downfall of the Galactic Republic, the massive military industrial complex that depended on forever war was also equally responsible.

Well sadly its necessity when it comes to the advancement and sophistication of technology. Think about it. Before in aviation because they relied on pistion driven aircraft during WW2 and prior conflicts car manufacturers could easily make aircraft. Fast forward today because of jet engines as well as advanced avionics it requires a dedicated aircraft manufacturer to build these things. Thats why you have companies like Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman for example.

The problem is things like reduction of collateral damage and such you feed into that complex because you want your weapons accurate and precise especially if you want to destroy one building over leveling an entire city block requires a company that's dedication and specialty to create the software to make it happen.

Off topic but I admire how the battle scenes in the Solo movie realistically captured the dirty, gritty, unpredictable, and dangerous feel of war. One of the main complaints I have with the other Star Wars movies is that the battle scenes always feel to clean, choreographed, predictable, and unrealistic, with a thick dose of plot armor for the heroes. Solo is the only Star Wars movie where the battle scenes actually feel realistic. Where you can feel just how raw and terrifying it would be to actually be on a battlefield with people blowing up all around you and knowing just how small you are in comparison. Knowing that the next explosion might occur right where you're standing.

Utilizing the Dark Side of the Force, the Star Forge was essentially like a replicator from Star Trek. It would make infinite copies of what was placed inside of it, using the energy of the Dark Side of the Force. The Rakatan Infinite Empire lost their technology due to a plague that severed their connection to the force, rendering their technology useless to them as they regressed and their artifacts were abandoned throughout the galaxy

Actually Boeing backdown on the deal with Embraer right when pandemic start, theres was a fallout in the market with Embraer almost selling the company for a chinese company. But in the end Boeing, didn't manage to gain full control of the market. Also the deal with Embraer didn't involved the Embraer Defense wich is their military branch and that the brazilian govt wouldn't ever allow them to sell it.

I think the empire is what the Chinese did with the great wall. They had to give their people something to do or people get into mischief. The republic would fracture and groups would separate without a common enemy. I think, what would have been a cool story idea, is we find Snokes and Princess Lea are working together. Snokes allows the rebellion to always escape by the skin of their teeth then keeps the empire in a constant state of police state. He funds the rebellion.

War has created innovations and technology since the dawn of time. What do you think humans did when they discovered metal? _"Oh look, it's sharp and pointy. I know, let's use it to stab the bad guys"_ Hell, remember that ape scene involved the use of a bone of a tapir in 2001: A Space Odyssey? Also, if the Ruusan Reformation limited severely on what and how much you can have in military power, don't you think some military industry would've circumvented such a reform at this time around? I imagine the factions that would later co-found the Confederate of Independent Systems would've already exploit loopholes. IRL, Hitler undermined the Versailles treaty by having the best mind in Germany create pocket battleships that would not violate the treaty.

This video is even more interesting now that Andor is showing the non-space wizard side of the empire and the bureaucrats who run it. Most sci-fi shows a model of the real world that the writer can play with parameters and speculate. The folks that obsess about lore often seem to miss this grounding in the real world and critique of the real world that the writers meant.

Question @Generation Tech: Are you implying in 5:50 of the video that these "same corporate entities" or the senators aligned or "bought" by them through the mediation, contrivances and maneuverings of Damask Holdings happened to count among their ranks the Techno Union, Trade Federation, Banking Clan, and Corporate Alliance? Does that really jibe and mesh neatly with Star Wars Canon Lore which states that they were integral and founding members of the CIS and in a state of open rebellion? Furthermore, how could they retain their place in the Galactic Senate (or at least their puppets there) if the entire Republic was in open conflict with them and the droid armies they brazenly, notoriously and openly fielded against Republic citizenry, assets, member worlds/sectors/systems/nations/dominions? Appreciate a clarification. Thanks and love ur channel btw.

Errr... airbus offered to set up a vast production facility in the USA to meet the replacement requirements of the usaf tanker fleet.. this would also have handled all freighter production.. this was blocked by interest groups even though it would have created 3 times more jobs than the Boeing offer

This lesson in military Keynesianism wrapped in the candy shell of Star Wars is the Trojan horse of political education a lot of people need these days. Good work.

Happy 4th of July! I never felt that star wars captured a realistic scale for galaxy wide conflict. 1.2 million clones at the start of the war wouldn't be enough to win a planet similar to earth. I suppose the wording "200,000 units ready" could mean battalions or regiments, rather than individual clones.
