The referee did it intentionally. So it is not a question of fairness, but rather he was against one side to the benefit of the other side.

In addition to that, the referee was too lenient with French's dirty game and biased towards them, whom have sensed that and as a result played on the nerve of the Moroccan players trying to provoke and accentuate their nervousness by pushing and holding them instead of playing a real sport. Glad that Argentina has taught them a life lesson of what Real Sport Spirit is really about.

@@ursawarior4ever Well at least Argentina plays with intention to play a good game, any mistake is made on the spot not premeditated. France however play with regard to the opponent and its state of mind and prevents it from even playing well by exploiting its nervousness instead of doing their best at scoring goals and defending. Instead of scoring goals on the first period they only save their energy too much which shows they were overconfident too bad for them with such a team they have could could have scored at least one more clean goal.

They did the same vs England too… France kept preventing any breaks/ threatening attacks from breaking past 40 yards whenever they were vulnerable and the ref refused to take action, they also kept fouling outside the box if it got too risky.. probably happened a dozen times. Tactical fouls should be an instant yellow every time.

You should show the whole incidents especially when Amellah was pushed down to the ground, both are penalties, Hernandez knew what he is doing, since he lost the ball he went ahead and hit Boufals knees to prevent him from getting the ball and then cry like little girl faking an injury

You can find the whole incidents online; if you use the video it gets a copyright strike or infringement. Boufal incident definitely not a penalty based on the laws of the game and referee interpretation. Amellah should have had a penalty based on guidance for referees on holding inside the penalty area.

@@PaulSpacey Hernandez was diving and aiming for Boufal's leg, then hit him right on the knees, how is that not a penalty? Why Boufal got yellow card? Why the VAR was on vacation? Everyone saw this was coming, corruption still exist at FIFA 💰👀

Idk tbh, It’s clear that fifa were mostly on France’s side in this specific match yes! But I don’t think they would’ve wanted France vs Argentina in the finals or maybe they did but I don’t think it was a money thing cause the finals were streamed for free anyways on KZfaq. And I think morocco at the finals would’ve brought more views and more money anyways! to have an African team for the first time ever in the finals is something big! But I think that’s the issue football is tied to politics most of the times and all though it would’ve been cool to have an African team for the first time in the WC finals, politically the higher ups didn’t want France to lose to morocco probably due to the history of the 2 countries so maybe France had to make a deal with Morocco secretly probably without the players knowing and just disrupt the team’s winning tactical plan that they played with the whole World Cup, and they also took advantage of most of the main players for not being present for that match the substitutes weren’t really as good as the main players who were all injured, so there is that and france probably bribed that ref to be on Their Side, that’s what I think happened.

@@Anonymous-ny9dl with all due respect my friend, but I think it is a bit superficial to think that fifa cares that much about revenues from views . What matters more is the money from sponsors, who invested more in the french team. And the sponsors would be less interested in football if Third world countries started dominating the game, putting away The First world countries , thus risking their rich population becoming less interested in the game , and that will make football less attractive to sponsors, who target especially rich viewers from Europe, and not from Morocco or the rest of Africa.

Morocco was the best team in this world cup. They played great, only conceding 1 goal a own goal against Canada all the way to the semi final. Meeting heavyweights all the way, Croatia, Belgium, Spain and Portugal, none of them could score against Morocco. The Match with France, they could also have won that, but the whole backline was injured. Even with the bad referee i think they could have overcomed it and win the match somehow. In my book Morocco was the best team in Qatar without a doubt, they was amazing in every single match even against France they where great with injuries and a weak backline. They played some amazing beautiful Football.

@@BananaJoe-yq7rb Saiss played half of the first half injured, he could not play anymore and was subbed, same with Mazraoui was not feeling the best also was playing he was subbed, Aguerd was not playing at all, the only regular who were fit was Hakimi. Amrabat the CDM was on pain medication he was also injured, but managed to play.

@@BananaJoe-yq7rb Saiss was injured he could not even run, i dont even know why the coach did let him start, Mazraoui was substituted because of injury you can look it up. Amrabat is a CDM but he is all-over, he is also important factor in defence. Yes he played well through the whole tournament. That is why they call him Cyborg and Gladiator. One of my favourites in the WC.

Bro Mazraoui was injured I still remember watching the match and the commentator said he was still having problems with that earlier injury, he also talked about that both Saiss and Mazraoui are playing with some injuries in the beginning of the match and also some weeks later I heard he was pretty sick he actually had COVID aswell. And when I go into the Fotmob app and look up the game and go to the ticker section with match updates it says he was substituted because of injury.

Exactly he did not want that to happen, I saw it aswell. Also after the match he was not happy with the result he did not congratulate the Moroccan president of the football federation with a smile. He did not want a African Arab Muslim country to beat these heavyweights. In the French game I knew Morocco would loose Infantini and Macron are connected. The referee and the VAR team was instructed to act in a specific way.

@@PaulSpacey To me it is cuz Boufal many experts said it was a clear pen even some expert referees said it. People differed on it but to me it was clearly a pen. Not because of emotion. But u could see his right hit Boufal and he fell Some people may say he tried to pass from behind or he kicked from behind so Boufal didn’t have the ability to play the ball. However u could see he did get a little touch of it which means he was able to play it and as soon as that happened the right leg hit Boufal in the box. It looks like clear pen ngl

One of the Morocco penalties should have been given for holding. It was NOT a foul on Boufal in the circumstances.

TYSM for this vid. As a Moroccan, this was by far the most frustrating match I’ve ever watched. Morocco deserved to win. This vid helps me understand the slight possibility why the boufal penalty wasn’t given. However, Amallah being brought down should’ve been a a penalty. Keep in mind the VAR ref was Canadian and Morocco beat Canada

Refereeing in this WC was a disaster, I was in Doha and watched many games as a spectator and many games on TV. Three referees should not be selected to referee again: Netherlands vs Ecuador, Netherlands vs Argentina and Morrocco vs France. I am sure there are many cases as well. If I have any control in FIFA, I will definitely ban them, no more refereeing in any FIFA tournaments. But hey, FIFA is all about money and corruption. Small Teams should not succeed in here.

Can you please do a video about Morocco vs Croatia match?? I personally think the referee was a disaster, he ignored a lot of stuff for both sides. In my opinion, he ignored two penalties for en-nesyri and hakimi, especially hakimi since he was clearly pushed. it wasn't just the two penalties, it was the unreal amount of fouls and leniency towards towards the french and the harshness towards morocco that kept breaking up the pace and putting morocco back on the backfoot, but also morocco missed a lot and we have a lot of injuries and both goals scored against us were our own mistakes, but ever then, i feel like there was no way they would have let morocco go through

If you are the ‘smaller’ team it kind of feels like everything is or goes against you. That was England vs France also. It’s crap but we have to accept it because that’s the game; refs don’t get everything right. Most refs way more lenient with cards this World Cup; they must have got instructions or guidance on that.

It’s a subjective opinion of the ref who interprets the laws of the game and guidance as they see fit for that circumstance or incident.

players shirt pulling and holding during set pieces is something that has existed for such a long time that 1. It probably never will go away and 2. I don't know if it will ever be consistently punished...or not punished

@@PaulSpacey also hard to tell if someone's actually being prevented from (potentially) playing the ball due to it or not, or they're just going down to grab referee attention. In either case a penalty never gets called from this offence unless the victim falls over so even if they could stay on their feet they won't get a penalty doing so

Not sure it’s necessarily an African team thing but Morocco have a right to be angry with some of the decisions, just like England vs France. We have to accept it because that’s the game, sometimes it goes against you. Human bias is a real thing, so there is also that to consider 😉

But here we are talking about the VAR not being utilized and when i say the VAR (many referees behind the screens) and not a single one out could have alerted the main referee.

There were some poor decisions but the referees are still humans making subjective decisions with some inherent bias. It’s possible there is sometimes inherent bias against ‘smaller’ teams.

You should have make a more complete analysis. Especially of the situations in which morocans players should have been sanctionned, or even booked. This would show these bitter moroccans fans that the referee was more balanced that they could see and that he was in fact very forgiven to them. - Dary's foul on Hernandez in the first halft (around 30th minutes if my memory is correct) was an obvious red card since Dary hit Hernandez with speed from both players directly on Theo's knee - Amrabat tackle on Mbappe was a foul (at slow speed, we can easily see Amrabat's left foot striking Mbappe's left foot behind the ankle) and more important, it was a clear case of dangerous play (when Amrabat extends his right leg, his foot is above the height of Mbappe's knee Dary should have received a red in first half but also one or two yellow cards during second half. He was often late on Mbappe, pushed with his hands to break a counterattack (everybody could see it at full speed, yet the ref didn't say anything)

Imo, I think that the Fifa made France and their "young star" Mbappe have a clear advantage in the entire world cup, making them play against weak teams and helping them with the referees against stronger ones, it might just be a feeling but I think that this world cup wasn't fair at all to any of the teams

Everytime there is an error, people always call on conspiracy...it's funny. Yes the referee was bad, he missed penalties and he also didn't sanction fouls committed by Morocco; The game will probably have been different with another referee but we don't know if morocco would have won or lost. Anyway, I don't understand why we limit usage of VAR, either it's allowed and use everytime there is a doubt, or it's not and we remove it. Or maybe give each team 2 calls for the VAR they can use during the game like in Tennis.

The defender Hernandez made a dangerous and reckless tackle, he was never going to win the ball clean unless he smashed his leg into Boufal. How the VAR ignored this incident is bizarre and even more strange is the booking of Boufal. For me this is a foul, committed by the defender Hernendaz, he must of known he wasn't going to win that ball clean, even though he touched the ball, But he also dangerously had a right foot off the ground, as a professional footballer this is a negligent and careless tackle. This definitely required VAR.

Your opinion is valid but wouldn’t be shared by most referees. Boufal was going at speed so his collision with Hernandez was simply a case of both of them colliding together. If Hernandez doesn’t touch the ball first, yes it’s potentially more of a penalty shout then. VAR checked it but decided the ref didn’t make an obvious error. Individual perspective, bias and experience influences your view on this situation.

It’s too easy to blame a conspiracy. FIFA can’t control player actions on the field. But yes it is possible that inherent bias impacts referee decisions; ultimately if a team truly plays well enough, they invariably win the game even if decisions go against them.

the boufal one , was a morocco attack, the reef didnt only give france a foul and boufal a yellow card.. he also stopped a chance for morocco to score.. cuz 3 moroccans were close to the ball.. and hernandez was down.. so some reef will give this penalty.. and the other one is a clear penalty.. argentina had many imaginary penalties in this tournament.. with barely a touch , they give penalty... but somehow boufal one we will open the book of laws and try to avoid the penalty with science... anyway this game score doesnt tell everything.. cuz the 2 0 came after morocco went attacking blindly in the last minutes.. so at least a penalty given couldv changed the game and turns it to a 50 / 50 .. and that isnt a normal game.. its a world cup semi final... and morocco isnt there everyday.. so it is quit a big deal..

No not France buying the match..that is ridiculous,..but consider this, but before I make my observations, let me say that most of here are to young to remember Cameroon vs England in the 80's world cup..Cameroon out played england for most of the and was leading buy 2-0 in the first half..then in the second half at the second half of that half England got awarded 2 penalties plus one offside goal..while Cameroon was denied a penalty and a sure goal...it turned out later that the ref. Was approached in the brake and the rest is history.. In this case investigation will should that the Major Money maker in this W.C. told FiFa that if Marocco are to "Allowed" to win and Pass, Tremendous Financial losses will occur! No one, besides Moroccans and the Arabs, are interested in a Final between Marocco and Argentina!!! A very profitable ( for everyone interest) and desired outcome would be,a final between France and Argentina, Messi vs MBappe trillions of dollars are at stake.."digg it?" So a choice of ref is made, thus that lousy ref with racist face and body language, and the fix was on! The rest is history! Just an observation from an old football player who understands the game in a different level. Kick out, and until 2026.

penalty or not , Var should interfere and ask the referee to take a second look at it from all the angles, they only made clear their intention to exclude the team from the competition, and that is what affects the performance of the players inside the field.

@@PaulSpaceyfallen players inside the operation box is a major decision in addition to a yellow card given it’s obvious a clear error and that’s enough for Var to interfere . if it was spain or brazil they would surely review it and they will comeback in score and it was going to be a great game . the Var interfere to take out two goals for Morocco, one against Belgium and one against Canada .

The speed of Boufal’s movement takes him into Theo; that’s the mitigating factor for the referee to not give a foul. If Boufal is stationary and Theo clatters into him, a foul is more likely.

So according to your analysis you can hit your opponent as hard as you can in his feet, obstructing him and preventing him from going forward and creating an opportunity for a dangerous game as long as you get to the ball first without totally controlling it ? If it were Mbappe or Messi or Ronaldo in this action instead of boufal he would have given them a penalty no hesitation, and it would not create much debate because it IS a penalty. Even Raphaël varane saw that it was penalty, every player except for you and the refree and the Var room .. For the second case i dont think it was a penalty because the ball was not heading for amallah, but it is still debatable of course.

It’s difficult to help you with this one because of your perspective; I can tell from reading your message that your individual perspective and inherent bias on this incident is clouding your ability to understand what a foul is and isn’t. This was not a foul based on the circumstances. It doesn’t matter if it was Messi or Pele risen from the dead; it’s still not a foul. Boufal was moving quickly and his motion is the issue here; if he was simply stood still, waiting for the ball, the analysis can potentially be different.

It was Hernandez that hit boufal not the opposite, Theo Hernandez had tried to secure the ball, slipped and hit his opponent in the process, but it happens that the opponent was moving fast that made the scene look like a foul but no foul because you are a damn Moroccan .. complex case indeed

@@PaulSpacey Im biased to my country of course and this does not alter my judgment, im even conviced that other refrees would have given penalty for morocco for that one for obstruction. It is not the fault of boufal that YOU slipped and hit him hard unintentionally inside the panalty area, and if it were outside of it that's a clear direct foul. I respect your opinion because its a complex case, and because english football can allow some agressivness in football to some extent, but this one deserves a var checking at least by the main refree of the game..

I understand your position and of course your inherent bias plays into it but the situation does not warrant a foul. Although the laws of the game make no distinction between differences in fouls inside and outside of the penalty area, we know they are sometimes treated differently by referees so your point about it being a potential foul outside of the penalty area is potentially valid. In normal speed, it looks like Boufal is late in his challenge and so I understand why the ref gave a foul. In slow motion, it looks different but it’s not a foul on Boufal, it’s more of a collision. VAR can only suggest a review if they believe the ref has made a clear error. Even though a yellow card should not have been issued, they cannot overturn a yellow as part of VAR protocol.

Ref didn’t give the foul so VAR would have to be certain on the replay that there was enough contact for a foul. That one is debatable; if the ref had given a foul initially, it probably wouldn’t have been overturned.
