That's a narc for ya! Her honor hit the nail on the head. When my narc ex-husband showed his true colors and I learned that I wasn't crazy, that I wasn't the problem, I learned about narcissism. I recognized that I had been hoodwinked my a covert narcissist and that my Mother was one. Once I learned what narcissism was, I started my exit plan. All his behaviors & manipulations no longer worked on me. I could see the BS before it came. I can now identify narcs & narc behaviors like a pro. I have taught my kids about narcs calling them wolves in sheep's clothing. There are many narcs out here in the world these days, and I want my kids to be able to identify them & run far away. Life's too short to deal with/accept their BS. Period.

Beautifully said judge Lynn, looks like she needed a smart woman's perspective and she got it. Learn to see the signs of control and isolation. This is why when my friends or family date it's important to have them around or tell them what's going on so you can get another perspective.

You shouldn't have to continuously ask for money when you're taking care of someone else's kid. You should know kids are expensive, that's common knowledge. And with his whole attitude, I completely understand why she would be snide when she finally got the money - which he's obligated by law to pay her anyway

I was once first giving this advice, but then few years later ignoring the signs I’m in a marriage and it’s an unhappy one right now. I believe I fell for who he pretended to be not for the real person he is. Going against myself now to leave because that’s the problem now days nobody knows how to stay and fight through it with each other. People are so much more quicker to dispose the relationship as if marriage is disposable. I’m not at all perfect but if you could see everything from a spiritual perspective you will see I’ve done very little wrong and too much right.

How do you define the physical closeness (sex)? I deem spiritual and emotional as being connection on a higher level than physical. Knowledge of self and the other person and liking and loving all parts of them. Having a strong desire to be united with that person long-term, being concerned about their desires, having their best interests at heart. Being in tune to their feelings and thoughts. Also having a personal commitment to the person, the marriage, and to our Creator, who created the institution of marriage. For starters.

Yeah, this not who my Uncle is at all. My Uncle is a man of literature, art, science, who can pretend for a while life is not a grueling existence he saw growing up of a hard working man working sheet metal in the factory. My Uncle is a remarkable, talented escape from all that. Try and tell him who else he should be. Why should you not love him for that?
