That video didn't just show assault though. Cassie was CLEARLY trying to leave that hotel, and Diddy prevented her from doing so, using violence, he dragged her back to the hotel room. That is Kidnapping. That's Federal and Kidnapping on the federal level has no statute of limitations!

I don't think it came from the raid personally. I think that the hotel kept its own copy just in case they found themselves in trouble. That is the copy that was secretly released!!

I don't think the hotel video was at Diddy's home. I think that when it happened, the hotel security system had back-ups they didn't tell Diddy about and perhaps an employee made copies. They may have given one to Cassie for free and told her about Diddy paying for his copy and paying for their silence. But out of sympathy for the abuse they witnessed, gave Cassie the freedom to do what she wanted with that evidence. Cassie may have been methodical in her approach. She was still trapped in 2016. Waited until she felt safe and was away from Diddy for good. Waited for Diddy to attempt to portray her as a liar. Even after settling for millions, he still denied it. So then at that point, that was the perfect time to have the footage handed over to CNN. Either that or CNN did some investigating of their own, tracked down former employees of the hotel and paid a hefty sum for another copy of the footage. Perhaps an employee was smart enough to know that it was worth more than $50K and that someone else might come looking for it someday.

I went down a deep rabbit hole. The way the video re appeared was because there was another copy made and a big music company bought it to have something on diddy. They did not find it at diddy's. It was re sold to news media for A LOT of money!!

Victims of domestic violence learn really quickly how to function in survival mode. Victims are groomed to trust the abuser so they gain full control. What people don't know is the heightened risk of death the victim faces when a they attempt to leave- that is when they are at the most risk of being killed by the abuser. Many women have died in the process of leaving an abuser. It is not that simple to just "walk away". Not by any means.. And that is where the public does not comprehend just how dangerous that dynamic quickly unfolds. Social workers and Therapists are specifically trained in helping victims of DV leave the abuser because of the high risk of being killed.

From what I heard this morning, Cassie stated in her complaint that she was also given a copy of the video. Most likely, it came from her legal team to expose him. Just confused why the waited months after settling. Either way, he deserves everything coming his way.

@Jasmine: I heard in another video that when the hotel provided Diddy with a copy, they also provided a copy to Cassie. Also, she eventually left the hotel and went back the next day. When the security saw her coming in, they told her they had seen the footage and begged her not to go back to his room. She probably told him that when she got to the room and he immediately went to obtain the footage.

The breakfast club with charlamagne stated that in the court documents that Cassie had a copy of the tape. So it’s safe to assume that her team was the one that released it.

In or around March 2016, during an FO at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, Mr. Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye. 121. After he fell asleep, Ms. Ventura tried to leave the hotel room, but as she exited, Mr. Combs awoke and began screaming at Ms. Ventura. He followed her into the hallway of the hotel while yelling at her. He grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape. 122. She managed to get into the elevator, and when she got to the lobby, quickly took a cab to her apartment. Upon realizing that her running away would cause Mr. Combs to be even angrier with her, and completely stuck in his vicious cycle of abuse, Ms. Ventura returned to the hotel with the intention of apologizing for running away from her abuser. When she returned, hotel security staff urged her to get back into a cab and go to her apartment, suggesting that they had seen the security footage showing Mr. Combs beating Ms. Ventura and throwing glass at her in the hotel hallway. 123. Upon information and belief, Mr. Combs paid the InterContinental Century City $50,000 for the hallway security footage from that evening. 124. After this, Ms. Ventura left her home in Comstock and went to hide away at a friend's home in Florida. James Cruz, President of Bad Boy Management, tracked Ms. Ventura down and told her that her single would not be released if she did not answer Mr. Combs's phone calls.” No copy of the tape was mentioned anywhere in the docs. This was one of many attempted escapes described in the lawsuit. The monster deserves to be placed under a prison.

Diddy apology was about self. Diddy got caught, and the visual can't not be called into question. Diddy called Cassie allegations lies and a money grab. When has filing a civil suit been defined as a money grab. Ben Crump is the official civil ligator when it comes to police brutality and police misconduct. When someone is injured on the job, sexually harrassed, exposed to a hostile work environment, they have the legal right to sue civilly. When one is injured in a car accident or home, they have the legal right to sue. We need to stop painting people who file civil suits with a broad brush when we aren't prevevy to facts. Cassie was injured and had every right to sue as she did. Although, the tape isn't complete vindication for Cassie it shows a pattern of behavior by Diddy that is well known for 3 plus decades within the industry.

You can bet that many in the entertainment (hip hop) industry, especially the "A" listers knew what was going on and they chose to stay silent and look the other way, because of who he was. They also need to accept accountability. I'm interested in more information coming from Cassie about who in the industry had first hand knowledge, and also witnessed her physical abuse. In the end, a some black men with millions/power is just as evil as some white men with money/power, because they think they are untouchable.
