As a Romanian I first discovered Bulgaria as a stopping point towards Greece only to find out the country deserves to be the destination itself. Loved Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia, Koprivshtitsa plus the mountains. Still a lot to explore, but Bulgaria is now one of my favorite countries.

Im sorry to disappoint you my friend but you are bulgarian not romanian. Till 1860 in all now called romanian territory the language was 70 percent bulgarians letters. Its because there was living bulgarians . But goverment decide to change and make big language reform . England helps your country to be born as today called Romania.

@passioncla 👋 Hello to our Romanian neighbours! "Brothers and sisters" we call just the Northern Macedonians - as they are an ethical match, but funny enough they call us back "tatars" 😅! "Crazy Balkan ignorance" from their side, lol! See ya soon in Bran castle, I would definitely go to see it and the "Black church" in Brashov also deserves a visit! 🎉

@@dalia_mar Romanians from the south consider you brothers. We have many things in common. From habits, food, to physiognomy. Those who consider you Tatars do not know history. The Bulgarians are a race of Thracians, among the oldest peoples, and a part of Romania was once under the Bulgarian Empire. Know that Romanians are passionate about geography and history, and most of us respect and visit your country whenever there is an opportunity. I've visited almost all of Bulgaria and i know how beautiful it is. Considering the complicated history and the problems we have faced, both we and you Bulgarians say we are doing pretty well. With a lot of effort and diplomacy, let's hope that we will make a Romanian-Bulgarian Schengen. It is important to fight together against the political classes and make progress at all levels. With a good political vision and big investment in education, we will do a good job and the gap between us and the rich countries of the West will gradually decrease. P.S: Sofia looks very good, you can see considerable progress. I hope to visit your capital again this year. Good luck and greetings! 🤗

A Neolithic settlement was discovered in Slatina, which is 6-7 thousand years old. Bulgaria, the oldest country in Europe that has never changed its name. The Varna civilization, with the world's oldest processed gold, is 8,000 years old. The tomb of the first pharaoh of Egypt and also the goddess Bastet is also in Bulgaria in Strandzha mountain. Bulgaria is an extraordinary land, with deep history, energy and ancient people. Welcome to the cradle of European and world civilization. After the great flood, which turned the Black Sea into a sea, because before that it was a fresh water lake, these people migrated and spread the knowledge they possessed around the world, going east.

As a bulgarian, this is the first video I watch from this channel. I loved your expression from just Sofia, but Sofia is not Bulgaria, come again, cross Bulgaria and you will love it even more. Recently I've met a guy from Belgium. He loved his 1 week in Pleven, Bulgaria. The funny thing is that when I asked him what he liked the most out of his tour here, he said that he loved the fact that people are so friendly and there is - as he said- "SO MUCH FOOD" I mean, if you are guest to someone's house in here we offer food and alchohol. We offer a lot food, a dish and a thing that we call "meze" for the achohol. :D By the way, you will need hundreds of days to explore every tourist destination in our small country, yes, there is so much to see :) One great place I can say is so called here "Rupite" near the city of Sandansky. It was the rest place for one of the greatest fortune tellers in the world, even Adolf Hitler came here to talk with her. You can see on the internet for "baba Vanga" or the russian movie "Vangelia". You can visit the monastery of her idol, also near Sandansky in the villiage of Zlatolist, mind that there is almost no road to there, for like 4-5 kilometers. You can go to the Panorama in Pleven and learn about the second most importand fight for the Bulgarian freedom from the Otoman Empire. You can fisit a lot of monasteries, history and religion related cliffs and caves. You can go to Plovdiv, it was announced for the oldest city in Europe and so on.

When I used to live IN UK I was dating a English girl, once I made a dinner for us and same time my housemates put down on the table food because she was a guest. She was so surprised to see so much food and asked if we were expecting more people 😅

Gey guys, welcome to Sofia :) The traditional banitsa is with white bulgarian cheese and usualy consumed with "айрян" (waterly bulgarian yogurt) or just bulgarian yougurt (sour milk - кисело мляко) or with "boza" / "боза". But most of the foreigners don't like it so much :) About the "musaka" ("мусака") - the traditional Bulgarian moussaka is with potatoes, but the Greek one is with eggplant, and the Turkish one is with a little more and different ingredients. It is also consumed with yogurt, mixed or on the side of the portion. Cheers

I truthfully find it surprising that foreign visitors find Bulgaria surprisingly interesting place to visit. There is so much history gathered in such a small area so it should not be difficult to believe it.There is so much versitality. Bulgaria is one of the oldest countries known so no big surprise here. Cheers and thanks for promoting Bulgaria even more :) P.S. next time try banitza with cheese, it rocks 🤘

As a returnee can assure you that Sofia changed a lot especially SW. Yes, it is not touristic as Budapest and Prague, but the more modern part is quite cool and modern. Sofia is chill and quite safe. In Sofia the transport has improved A LOT. The metro is very cheap and modern. There are new Polish trams and trolleybuses etc. Yes, Sofia is not Budapest but the economy is growing for sure with more IT companies, low taxes, etc.

You have to see Plovdiv too, one of the oldest cities in the world! There are soo many history in Bulgaria, but sadly, most people prefer to go to Greece or Italy. I hope you had a great time there ❤️🇧🇬 You have to check and "The Seven Rila Lakes". It's a beautiful place! We have a great country, but sadly, we are underrated.

Hello and welcome in Bulgaria. If you are still in Sofia and want to enjoy traditional Bulgarian food and a restaurant in the old Bulgarian style, I can recommend the restaurant "Hadjidraganovite izbi". If you want to visit something more modern, I can recommend "The Corner Piano Bar & Dinner". If you like nightlife - Bedroom Premium Club is good choice. Another one of my favorite place in Sofia is Tsarsko Selo Spa. If you plan to visit other cities in Bulgaria, Bansko and Sunny Beach are destinations that deserve attention. I wish you a pleasant trip around the country and good luck! 😊

You can eat mousaka in each and every Balkan Country + Romania. It is my favourite dish since I was a kid, but now I cook a better mousaka than mom does. It can be made with potatoes or eggplants, but it should be served with some sourcream on top. The turkish variant has beef/lamb meat instead of pork. But the name is originally greek. I also like bulgarian food, it has a strong and mouthfull taste, I go in Bulgaria at least once a year.

You can also go to 7 Rila lakes up in the mountains, Alexander Nevski Cathedral, Rila monastery and Boyana church. Please don't stay only in Sofia. Go to Plovdiv a nice city full of students or to Bourgas and Varna with their beautiful seashores.

I would recommend you to try some traditional restaurant such as Manastirska magernitza or Moma Bulgarian Food and Wine. And probably I would recommend you to try some banitza somewhere else as well, because the one with the bulgur was not the classic Bulgarian banitza😅 Hope you like it in Bulgaria!🥰

I love it when people visit my city and are so pleasantly surprised of what we have to offer for tourists. Usually younger people speak English, older speak Russian. Sofia and Bulgaria have so much to offer for tourists and the locals also. Visiting Vitosha Mountain is a must in Sofia and all the churches, the National Palace of Culture and seeing the city center is all doable in a couple of days. You've got a new subscriber in me. Keep up the good work!
