My mum died of cancer awhile back and this was her favorite song it was played at her funeral. Every time I hear it I tear up. for years I didn't listen to it as it just caused me pain. Thank you dido for making my mother happy.

Oh that voice only one Dido that voice will always be remembered even though I am eighty Six. Some of the performers I have listened too are gone but not forgotten, thank God for my decent mind at my age. I am thankful for that.

The most beautiful thing about these songs of our past is the comment section, where you read the comments of so many peoples from all around the world who are here again after all those years sharing their memories, experiences. It feels like you are surrounded by lots of friends who were going through phase of their life same as you some bitter or sweet that have been etched in our hearts and minds and now we all are reminiscing those memories, some crying some laughing but altogether. One thing is for sure that era was the best compared to today.

True, you are so right. Maybe its because we LOVE and enjoy the idea of been in LOVE, yet we think it is because of the person we are with or we had. Love give us the oportunity to explore a whole spectrum of emotions and allows us to choose the one that makes us feel exactly like this song... to never give up on LOVE, never give up on ourselves.

This song hits my heart every time I hear it. I love the song, but it came out when I was going through a hard time (a year after graduating HS and trying to figure out what I wanted and who I am). And I went through some depression with it. There were times I couldn't even listen to this, it was just so haunting. And during that time I temporarily moved to a big city (small town girl here) with stars in my eyes, but of course reality came in quick and I realized how 'the big city' can chew you up and spit you out. Sometimes I was honestly emotionally masochistic and would listen to this on my ipod while walking the city streets, feeling so lost. But I'm much stronger now and this song actually brings me comfort. Thank god.

Way to make a guy jump back to Xmas '06 in Reno. What a selfless song. From the video, it looks like he’s still just as in love with her as she is, or at least wishes her well. Who knows? But at the end of the day, it is true that in some cases like this, two people who do deeply love each other shouldn’t be together for their own sakes. It may not have been infidelity or something terrible that tore them apart, but whatever it was can’t be forgotten and may not be able to be mended. Or they just weren’t a good match. So she pretends to move on despite how much she loves him and is very graceful about it to keep them both from getting hurt further. Love this.

No, she isn't underrated because she was a huge pop idol in her generation (early 00's). But then, she decided to take a brake and make a family. When she came back, a lot of new singers like...yes, the Taylors, the Katys and Mileys took her place. Now Dido's albums are just a bunch of masterpieces on nostalgia trips. World changes and keeps spinning everyday, bro. And even the pop stars couldn't escape from that.

This is the song that taught me it's okay to stay in love with someone even when you've moved on from them. It might be the most valuable lesson I've learned in my entire life. Call me a stupid sap, but I don't stop loving just because a relationship has ended. And I don't want to pretend otherwise. This song made that feeling okay. There's no way to truly express how important this song is.

I had a simular realisation once, only slightly different: I realized that my feelings towards somebody where not contingent upon their feelings for me. They may hate or thoroughly dislike me. It has no consequence at all at how I feel about them. This has also been one of the most liberating thoughts about my relation towards others I ever had.

@@malgorzataswiontkowska808 I would suggest it's rather the non-acceptance of heartbreak. As long as you don't give up being in love, the heart is still intact. Sure, the one sided love thing is a coping mechanism which you could call the denial stage of grief, but that's the thought anyway.

This song was the first song I heard when I came to America after being adopted at age 8 from China. I heard this in a Home Depot store and I immediately wanted to know who sang this; such a beautiful angelic voice. It took me a year to find the artist, at the time when Shazam wasn’t a thing and KZfaq had just started.

I went through my divorce in 2007 and this was what was playing. We had a 3 year daughter and I was absolutely devastated. Her voice takes me back to those moments when I didn't think I could ever get through. My daughter left for college this week and she's thriving. We made it and Dido voice feels like my inner strength now talking to me. Pretty fucking awesome ; - )

Yes. I ended up as a single dad. My daughter finished uni and has a great life now and is happy. We can do it man, and once through the storm, life can be better than it ever was . Love of our child is above all else there is.

I miss my life as an early teen in the 00’s. Life was so much easier. Dido was the soundtrack of my life even if I didn’t understand all the feelings she expressed so beautifully through her music. Oh, I if I could only turn back time and choose different paths...coulda shoulda woulda, right?! 🤷🏻♂️ Anyway, Dido is incredible. I love her music. It will always be a part of my history, an especially fond part of it.
