I was always a big cr7 fan and admired Messi. My dad kept talking about these great and especially Maradona. I looked Diego up and never seen anything like it. RIP legend

Maradona cradling the world cup is the greatest sporting moment in history. When a player effectively won a team tournament on his own. His exclusion from the 78' WC squad and the failure of 82' was the reason this moment shows unbridled joy like few others. Hard to imagine what records he would break in modern football but we know how boring that would be. To see him avoid the crazy challenges twice or more and cheat gravity to make that final pass or finish was the reason we loved him. For those comparing Messi and Rondaldo to Diego, it's fair to say that both are the most exciting and talented players in the past 25 years and only Ronaldhino and Ronaldo9 could compete with either but seriously, ANYTHING that either of those four players could do, Maradona could do. So you're taking the strength and pace of Ronaldo9, adding the dribble talents of Messi, the shot power of RonaldoCR9 and the amazing ball control and vision of Ronaldhino and combining them into 5ft5" of TnT. Add to that, leadership skills that saw average players elevate themselves to champions. Nothing will ever compare to Maradona, his love and passion for the game is like no other.

@@lamparinadelas Meu deus cara, compara os jogadores que Pelé tinha ao lado com os que Maradona tinha na seleção, Pelé tinha Garrincha e Didi na copa de 58, esses dois jogavam mais que ele, Djalma Santos e Nilton Santos que foram os maiores laterais do século XX reconhecidos pela FIFA, na de 62 Pelé só jogou dois jogos e Garrincha venceu aquela copa nas costas, na de 70 ele tinha Rivellino( que jogava mais que ele), Gerson ( que tbm era melhor que ele), Jairzinho, Carlos Alberto Torres, Tostão e companhia, agora me fala 5 jogadores bons da seleção Argentina campeã de 86, sem pesquisar no Google, para porra, Maradona ganhou uma copa sozinho, é o melhor da história disparado.

Es dificil definir lo que provoca Maradona , es sorprendente en cada accion, cuando baja una pelota, cuando la pasa de taco, cuando pone un pase milimetrico casi sin mirar al compañero, cuando baila con la pelota al compas de la hinchada.... Es un artista, es diferente....

One important thing to remember when comparing Maradona to another player, is the fact that any defender tried to kill him when the ball was in their foots. Take a sharp look at any play, those bastards wanted to break his legs off and he managed to escape. And he has a level of enjoy hardly seen in some other player. Strength, speed, balance, tecnique, pride, enjoy, personality, love.

Yes. It's like they wanted to kill him. I don't think Pele is better than him in terms of dribbling and accuracy. Just Pele had more goals. It's hard to get the ball through more than 3 defenders willing to break your legs.

@@contekozlovski its not about winning a world cup dude but the manner in which Diego did...from the 1st match till the last, Diego was by far the best on the pitch in every single game that argentina played in 1986 .....being triple teamed in every game but still scoring outstanding goals in the quarter n semis n weaving that magical assist in the final, messi has never done that nor has any player in football history .....diego cannot be compared to any footballer dude ....this man is above the game .....

Desde muy joven jugo de la misma manera, las putas drogas no tiene nada que ver con su rendimiento y sus ganas de jugar, No como el pecho frió de Messi que hasta renuncio a su selección, Diego tiene cojones y huevos suficientes esa es la razón del porque desafía la física, ademas claro de su punto de balanceo que hace difícil tumbarlo.

***** De acuerdo con casi todo, excepto la tremenda roca que dices, "gracias a la drogadiccion" hay que ser 100% mezquino para decir eso,no hay pruebas que diego se haya drogado, aun asi, la droga desgasta mucho y agota después de un corto tiempo mucho al cuerpo, no hubiera rendido si se hubiera drogado, como no rindió en Italia 90 que vino recargado de coca el Diego.

É isso! Maradona era mais genial, mais imprevisível, e muito mas muito mais habilidoso, Maradona tinha alguma coisa única dele, não precisava de um super time pra jogar, não precisava nem ter alguém de nível próximo ao dele como companheiro, ele mesmo já resolvia, na década de 80 e início de 90, o futebol italiano vivia seu auge até então, Maldini surgindo, Baresi, Costacuerta, Gullit, Matthaus, todos jogaram na mesma epoca, e adivinha quem colocava todos no bolso? Maradona. Com o “poderoso” Napoli, o que esse cara fazia ninguém nem vai fazer, a gente vê hoje o Messi, mas com todo respeito a ele, Maradona era mais bola, um meia completo, sem deficiências, e muito decisivo, nunca mais terão jogadores melhores que ele, o Melhor da História é Diego Armando Maradona.

The most unique thing about Maradona is that all his skill is natural. He plays with passion. You can feel it when you watch it. Sometimes Ronaldo fakes and lets himself down on the ground. Sometimes Messi does it. But even it's a real big faul, Maradona continues to play. It's impossible to put him down. That talent comes from God. There is no other explanation about him.

Exactly. He was built like a small tank. A fucking fast and agile tank though :D It gave him fantastic balance, having a low centre of gravity and a somewhat stocky frame. Time and again you see him almost fall, but somehow regain his balance and continue. One of a kind that guy. I shudder to think what he would have become with modern training techniques, modern nutrition, etc.

I do not think he will ever have any equal, If Mess I likes let him win 2 world cups and 5 champions leagues, if CR7 likes let him win 10 ballon Dors and score 1000 goals. Maradona's abilities, talents and what he has done with football on the field despite the bad pitches and ugly tacklings then, is bigger than those things..... Kudos Diego, Kudos greatest One

When I see this game I am amazed, moved, delighted. I've never seen anyone play like this. It was impossible to take the ball away from him, they could only knock him down or hurt him with extreme anger. He could score from any corner of the pitch. Not wanting to ridicule all of his opponents, many considered themselves champions. For this he was special, brilliant, divine. Nice video, thanks for these pictures.

when i was a kid my hero was pele, no other, then came maradona, I heard about this guy while playing in, argentino juniors, didnot take notice till i saw him play and he was fantastic man, i said are you kidding me? he then won in 86, all by himself really with good players nothing special, then reaching the finals in 90' one of the best moves arg. vs brazil, diego giving the pass to cannigia, incredible, and he was injured big time, hi ankle like a watermelon, cheers for the video

Me gusta Pelé, Messi, pero nunca existió un jugador, que incluso para una persona como yo que jamás lo vió jugar, lo emocione tanto el verlo, quizás no tuvo la carrera más regular, pero sin duda es el talento más grande que se ha visto en el fútbol, y no soy argentino.

There was absolutely nothing left to prove after World Cup 1986 in Mexico. Nothing of the magnitude of '86 before had been performed by any player.
