As a Galatasaray fan; i watched Hagi over then 10 times in stadium! He was an artist, a leader, a lion! I've same feelings for a napoli fan about maradona, Hagi was a miracle! After he retires, i quit to go stadium. Respect both of this great players and to their nations!

This shows what a world class team Romania was in the 90s. We played Argentina in both '90 and '94 world cups and didn't loose. Draw in Italy and win in USA. In this game Hagi was much better, our defenders were fantastic at blocking him and not giving him space. In my view, Brazil, Argentina and Romania were playing the most beautiful football in those years.

As a Romanian watching as a kid this game and the 1994 game, I adored Hagi. He was magical. Maradona was my non-Romanian favourite player. He was electrical. R.I.P. Diego. All my respect to the Argentinians.

As a romanian, I could say it's debatable, for me Romania 1970 at Mexic 70 World Cup was better squad. That Brazil squad with Pele and Jairzinho, one of the biggest all time! I really believe that Hagi is one of the five greatest football players of all time much better than Maradona or Figo. Bad luck for him he is romanian and romanians don't count in high class of world of sports. They simply don't matters. The prizes and praises are taken by big ones from Western countries. Özellikle 94 dünya kupasında dünya üçüncülüğü hagili Romanya nın hakkıymış aslında İsveç e penaltılarda çok talihsiz şekilde elenmişler. İsveç in de kadrosunda tomas brolin sonradan fb ye gelen anderson falan onlar da iyi takımmış ama Romanya daha iyi oynamış malesef penaltılarda kaybetmiş. Eğer yarı finale çıksalardı rakipleri brezilya olurdu belki brezilyaya elenirlerdi ama çok da zorlarlardı brezilyayı. Hagiyi brezilyaya karşı oynadığı maçları izlemek çok güzel olurdu.

Erau doar pentru public , trebuie privit in contextul si interesul jocului , tactic ..., etc. Asa si JJ Okocha era chiar peste Roni...dar cu nici un rezultat. He was plaiyng in a team who was 2 times finalist in Champions league and one time in semi final, before he went to Real Madrid.Steaua Bucarest between 1986 and 1990 was a top European team.

of course Maradona was the best,even better than Messi....Hagi was a great player...you just dont know...but in 94 Romania lead by Hagi would have won the World Cup if not the penalty loss to Sweden in quarter finals...Romania with Hagi was better than Brasil or Italy...just unlucky...

always argentinians had problems when they played against romanians in world cups or friendlies, i don't know why , even in era with Maradona ...1-1 in world cup 1990 , and Romania eliminate Argentina in World Cup 1994 with a memorable 3-2 ,Hagi was the mastermind of that match ... Romania play better against south american teams , see also Romania - Colombia 3-1 (WORLD CUP 1994) or 1-0 again (World Cup 1998)
