Nah the soccer refs need to implement replays into their decision making, just like they do here. You can hear the ref saying, can i see that in full speed please. They check everything before making a decision. It would COMPLETELY wipe out dives and carrying on, because they'd just check the replay and see, oh he didn't touch you haha

@@NB-fb8pw Rugby is an extremely physical game. People get hurt in pretty much every sport. We have a word for those who purposely like to inflict injury with illegal play, we call them Grubs. There is no place for them in rugby, if they want to fight then go fight professionally, but they won’t because they’re grubs who like to take their shot when the other player is defenceless. Again rugby is tough, accidents happen. It’s a sport with rules that don’t include cheap shots. There have been a lot of rule changes over recent years with sole intention of protecting players from serious injury. For the most part it’s working.

2005 Lions tour New Zealand, Tana Umanga spear tackle on Brian O'Driscoll should be on here and all he got was a slap on the hand. This ended O'Driscoll's tour.
@Justiceforpets
@Justiceforpets 8 ай бұрын
O’Driscoll’s shoulder injury was 18 yrs ago and managed in accordance with the rugby guidelines of the time. The incident itself was never attributed to intentional or malicious play, as to accuse either or both tacklers involved, neglects to acknowledge both experienced players with equally unblemished behaviour, both on and off the paddock. Firstly - Two players were clearing the ruck, (neither guilty of predicting each others movements) consequently their independent actions created a momentum, resulting in the dangerous effect and result. It’s completely relevant to appreciate the character history of both Kevin and Tana prior to as well as since then, in terms of appraising the incident. Next - The NZ public do not tolerate poor sportsmanship, thuggery or lack of manners either off the paddock. Every All Black knows the standards they have to keep, before they pull on the Black Jersey.

Half of these were dirty plays, the other half were unathletic tomato cans getting laid out.

Some of these head clash red cards are outrageously stupid. The NRL has joined this campaign. Most of the time the ball runner and defender are just as at fault for "leading with the head", or as like to call "running like a human being". Sometimes shit just gets slightly off balance, or someone moves slightly to one side and all of a sudden your heads come together. I swear to God, we've got enough reason to send players off.

Few of these are just sloppy tackles but others are obviously intentional, definitely should be banned longer.

You take out the legs of the ball catcher, and, that should be a SEASONAL red.

Can someone explain 0:15 please? I was under the impression that the tackler had the responsibility of going low. So many hits like that we see and now red card, what is the difference here?

I see no problem, if a defender hits an attacker with a raised arm that strikes the neck/chin.face they are red carded, why shouldn't the same apply to the ball carrier raising his arm.... elbow/forearm leading at the head of the defender?

Striking the head and neck. Red card instantly.

@iffracem the same does apply to the ball carrier, that's why Tuilagi was sent off.

@@iffracem understandable. So how does the officials decide whether the defense had their head in the wrong place or the attacker malicious in aiming the head? Considering that the attacker is trying to run away while the defense is trying to technically attack the ball carrier. It just seems so split second that it's hard to see who is at fault. Is there a metric?
@MrSoulman74
@MrSoulman74 10 ай бұрын
@@littlellama8405 Both the ball carrier and the defender have a responsibility not to attack the head or neck of the opposing player, so a ball carrier can use an open hand to the chest of a defender to push him away but not a forearm to the face, likewise a defender cannot tackle a player around the neck, in the air or tip tackle an opposing player because they may land on their head or neck risking serious injury, it is a sport not a death match, no one likes to see someone seriously injured or paralysed, but we do want to see good clean running rugby.

Some of these I see clean hits that resulted in say a shoulder to the chin. Guy gets knocked out and the shoulder guy gets ejected. Why?

There is a difference relationships between refs and players in rugby. Mutual respect. If a player sees a violation and points it out to a referee they honestly look into it. You have just one ref and two flag men compared to football which can have seven. That’s why they clearly explain the foul. Respect.
