Diesel Engine `Petter` - Will it run on used Engine Oil

1967 British engine a Petter PAZ1. Testing out, starting and running on used motor/engine oil un filtered. In this video I am going to show the injector out of the engine spraying diesel and changes to Oil. You will se the difference between the 2. Will show the actual starting un cut footage, aid in starting and a cold start. We gona have a failure while running too but will let you catch that one out :) `THE VIDEO WAS MADE FOR TESTING PURPOSES. THE OIL MAY BE NEED MORE FILTERING TO USE IT DAILY`

Great video. You could see the white smoke when the oil ran out. It would be good to filter the oil and have a pump and injector for oil and spare for diesel just because of possible wear. Pumping oil would work with a worn pump because so thick. Injector didn't really spray the oil so makes me think it doesnt need to be sprayed to work so if it wears over time shouldn't be an issue. What would be interesting is comparing the hp of the engine on diesel vs oil. Cooking oil is another oil many people use.

I used oil for video purposes. Till know I wont be using oil as fuel. Maybe will have to when prices get much higher. Do you think if you pass it from fuel filters the carbon would be filtered? Thank you Paul

@@enginelover1 i think you could most likely filter some out but without chemically treating it most would stay suspended in the oil.

In late 80s i drove a dumper truck with these in em simple rugged engines. 😊

Dumpers usually had the PH1 for 1 ton and PH2 for 2 halve ton this looks like a PAZ 1 very interesting video thanks

great idea , i shall be running my fumper and my tractor on waste oild mixed with diesel as they tend to run better , also thinking of making a big alternator on my dumper to charge the house batteries instead of a generator

Good idea mixing it. The oil must be filtered well as carbond deposite will damge the nozzle. I put straight in for the purpose of the video. I charge battries with this and when its flat it really does load the engine tough. Thank you 😊

A centrifuge would remove much of the carbon -there's a video on here of a guy cleaning oil with one. Great vid by the way.

Heard of a centrifuge, but cannot imagine how it work. Where does the oil and carb stay when its shut down? Thanks for your nice comment. :)

Most of the older Zetor tractors (sixties and seventies) had centrifugal filters, if there are any in Malta it might be worth a look, they worked fine-just needed to be cleaned once in a while.

Very interesting. As mentioned the carbon deposits in the oil will eventually grind the fuel pump system. Oil can be cleaned but it's such a process it negates the point of this. I wonder however if an additive could added to dilute the carbon a little. All good fun. Thanks for sharing.

Glad it was fun, I always try to make interesting videos. Sure all that black is carbon, so I assume as long its still black it still have carbon mixed with oil?

Its so satisfying using something that was going for waste. Honestly not my design, I have copied it from the old Petter engine that their handle is a hook . You see the spray pattern how much it reduces with oil and yet still ignites and burns good.

That will knacker the injector pump in no time!!! You need to think, there are very fine particles of carbon going into that injector pump where there is near zero tolerance for any foreign body!
