I use to operate a grapple crane at a scrapyard. One day a beautiful R model Mack came in with a 48’ flatbed, loaded with assorted scrap, mostly on pallets. When I got down to the last pallet, all the way on the nose, I told the driver, I didn’t think I could get it. ( it was 2 maganse dishes on a pallet) I called for a forklift, but the foreman told me, none were available. I told the driver, no guarantee that they wouldn’t fall off. I could just barely, grab part of the pallet. As I slowly pulled the pallet back, the 2 metal bands broke, with one of the dishes falling off the trailer, hitting the rear chrome quarter fender on the truck. This was the first and only damage I ever did to a truck or trailer in 27 years. Ten years later, at a car show with one of my drivers, I saw big trucks on a side street. And there was a brown R model Mack! I told my friend, this looks like the truck I damaged! Just then, someone tapped me on my shoulder, and when I turned around, the guy said, “ you’re the one who damaged my truck”.

A fun fact most people don’t know is that when using a “direct tie down” meaning going from trailer directly to your cargo cuts the working load limit of your securement in half, to receive the full rating of the chain it needs go from trailer, over and or through your cargo and then to the other side of the trailer. And as far as the fenders go always remember, the kick stand is last to go down, but always first to go up. Lock that in your brain and never forget

Very nicely done .You can see you take a lot of pride in your and your truck. I drive a 1989 Mack Super Liner with a modified Cat 3208 @ 675 hp, 10" stacks all mechanical with a JC 10.5 wide 4 axle plus 2 goose neck and extra 2 axles for float for all super heavy stuff . For loading that Pipe you could try chaining down the first two or three then load and chain down the 3rd and 4th Pipe separately. Good vids. your personality keeps me subscribed. ;)

You need a buzzer switch that annoyingly warns you and the world that the bar is lowered. A simple automotive brake light plunger switch could be made to work. Take care of yourself and your positive attitude. Always enjoy your videos.

We all make mistakes don’t let it get you down bud it could have been a lot worse.

Put a flag on it that sticks up or paint it green or orange so you can see it down it helps

Maybe 1/2 fenders would be the better option.

2 4x4’s with chocks. Stack em.

Just some advice as some one who runs equipment we do not like greasy gloves on the controls! Take gloves off when loading and unloading it eats the controls up also. Love the videos keep em coming

James Pretty has a trailer like yours and he might need some help to dropping and rehooking the trailer with one of the leaver that drops the neck down a little further so it can hook up to the trailer

What I would have done with the pipes Two on the bottom,strap down sucured Then strapped the top two together with four straps and then strapped them down on top with another four straps Use a total of 10 straps I don’t get those trailers! Way to low Hassle unhooking and re hooking All for a low ramp Australian trailer have ramps that are higher but longer so same angle. Getting on and off is quicker and the whole trailer is that much more off the ground to not really worry about getting bottomed out. Plus they are able to widen hydraulically
