To anyone who currently owns a Siege Mirage since late 2019/early 2020, has there been any breakage on the blue translucent plastic?

This is such a smart idea. It feeds those who need constant uploads but doesn’t “drain the life” out of you. I love this mini serise

Trying something. I didn't exactly have a high opinion on this figure, but I still had an opinion, so I made a stripped down version of the review so I wasn't slogging through the creation process of a figure I didn't want to spend much time with filming. feedback on the lighter format is appreciated!

I feel like I'm the only person who thinks he's really good 😭😭

1. So you're saying that parts of the Mirage figure are a ... mirage? (I think I'm willing to give Mirage of all characters a pass on faux parts. What I couldn't excuse on the Siege figure is the alt mode that doesn't pass as an Earth vehicle yet doesn't look very Cybertronian, so it fails either way. I'm therefore more hopeful about the upcoming Kingdom figure.) 2. I totally agree about thin armatures. I personally would *prefer* parts-forming in those cases since it'd eliminate a potential (and likely) point of breakage. For examples, Generations Chromia and last year's Cyberverse Arcee would have been much better figures without them. 3. This didn't really feel like a "mini" review. It didn't have the usual comedy sketch in the beginning, but otherwise the rest still seemed as good as your normal reviews. I'd be totally fine with taking it down a few more notches to save time and sanity.

That doesn't feel like a mini review. What makes it mini... the lack of skits? It's not worth disrupting your video naming scheme. It's fully worthy to be called a review. No mini about it.

I don't mind the car mode. To me it looks like a futuristic Earth mode- well, all the Siege non-seekers pretty much do, really. I would have so preferred an F-Zero, actually alien-looking vehicle for him (well, for all of Siege really- they were great toys but a huge missed opportunity).

I thought there were no wheels in Cybertron when I first saw Bumblebee and the Seekers in the very first episode of the G1 cartoons

Getting the Netflix 'Decepticon' Mirage and pretending it's a totally different figure worked out for me. I called him 'Greasepit'.

I have made my peace with lazy transformations or weird cybertronian styles over the years if either mode turns out fine. What really irks me that the fake spoiler in the back couldn‘t even act as some sort of additional spoiler for downforce because it points into a direction which would lift the rear wheels up instead of pressing them down. (Assuming the huge block would pass through air in theory)

i think this figure would be amazing as slapdash because of the location where the parts end up on the original slapdash

Oh I WISH they did an F-zero style. Hell a bunch of F-zero style racer bots would be freakin' awesome!

I wish they didn’t have to make a completely new version of the cybertronian writing every time there’s a new toyline

I still want to kit bash an Earthrise OP hips and legs with a Siege OP torso and arms. I cannot get over how much more proportional Siege OP is over Earthrise in regards to the torso. Regarding the video, I totally understand. He doesn't *feel like* Mirage, yet looks like him. Uncanny Valley effect. The business with the chest and arms is baffling, because there's more than enough plastic and allocated hinges to have avoided both the strange visible fake chest in car mode and the spoiler being too far forward and not having airspace beneath it. Call me a heretic, but I actually don't mind the faux chest considering the price point. What I do mind is how horrible the leg engineering is for what it does. The wheels could have filled in gaps rather than jut out like so much Bayformer mess, and if that would have ruined the look...this isn't technically a G1 Earth mode so why not lean more into that? Hell, that's primarily my issue with Siege: half of the figures are just the Earth vehicles with ricer kits randomly welded together. Where's Siege Wheeljack, who easily could have been a redeco of the Ironhide/Ratchet mold as it's closer to his actual Cybertron mode in G1? WHERE WAS SIEGE BEE?

You could say Mirage's full faux transformation is looking a little - Slap Dash. (Hasbro when will you dedicate an entire trilogy to modernized obscure late-80's and G2 orignals?)

You bring up some fine points. I enjoy the figure though. I'm just glad he exists. Hell, I'm thankful for the whole line because I never had most of these figures as a kid. I'm stoked that I'm able to buy these figures now that the engineering and materials are what they are, and I have the income to give my inner 5-year-old all the transformer he never got in the 80's.

im okay with the tiny armature, kind of just remind me of how the siege and earthrise datsuns having them.but what i cannot stand is when a figure has way too many fake/faux piece ,like 1 or 2 is fine but over that is just too much.I was even very hesitant on buying one at half price, as i even knew i wouldnt really like it.Then decided to not buy it and instead just scratch building one out of a combiner wars offroad to fit my collection

Thanks for this shorter video. I actually like this format more, as it concentrates on the review. I usually skip past the "cartoon" introductions myself, so their absence in this video was welcomed!

I enjoyed it as it had at least one skit for it but it was very informative on your opinion of the review so hope to see more of this take. Fun fact if you unclip the ab area for mirage you can kind of get a deep ab crunch forward and a weird angle going back. And you can get a forward butterfly joint on the arms if you miss transformer it as well to make the Bigger buff guy look

First off, I 100% agree with just about everything you said about this figure. Second, I seriously wish Hasbro just remolded CW Mirage. You can still have the faux chest, and also have it actually “feel” at least a little bit like Mirage. Honestly, I’m almost surprised nobody has like, 3D printed a faux G1 chest and some shoulder plating for CW Mirage in order to get that. Hell, you could just print a new set of arms that have the accurate shoulder flaps.

No lengthy comment this time, but I will offer you these points of interest: You nailed every reason I own this figure, while still being displeased with it. It looks like G1 Mirage (and I still have my copy of the Classics one too) and the transformation just sucks. I also VERY MUCH like that you animated this Mirage to move the correct way for his transformation, with his chest dropping down to become the nose of the vehicle mode. I rewatched it several times to make sure I wasn’t losing my marbles, and was pleasantly surprised. All in all, excellent mini review, and I can’t wait to see you do more in this format.

I'm not a huge fan of it, sold my Siege Mirage a while back and started looking for the CW version, as I think that it looks better than both the Kingdom and Siege versions, and actually has a transformation instead of spaghetting out. And yes, I absolutely agree with your sentiments on noodle transformations, I would honestly prefer partsforming to noodles, because if a noodler breaks, theres no fixing it and the figure is doomed to be severed in half for enternity. I still have the transparent version of the Siege mold, and let me tell you, its got to be the most unpleasant thing in the world to transform, seeing just a strip of extremely breakable plastic hold everything together is just cringeworthy.

I'm a fan of armatures in transformations. Not sure I can adequately explain why, but there's something about the way they're able to shift large portions of mass while still remaining attached that I find interesting.

I’ve bought every version of the siege mold mirage, I’m a huge mirage fan, I get whilst in some aspects he’s not great, despite that I really love siege mirage, I thought his transformation was wacky fun and using his transformation joint mirage can have a butterfly joint, making those rifle holding poses look amazing

This Mirage is one of those figures that tremendously benefits from ToyHax Reprolabels. He goes from, "Well I guess it's Mirage," to, "Okay, this is definitely Mirage!" Beats spending $90 for the update two-pack.

I was kinda like that with my Autobot Tailgate action figure.

my main problem with partsforming is that I am a dumb person that loses stuff easily, and if a part of a transformer was detachable its a guarantee I would probably lose it... so armatures are perfectly fine in my book for that reason, AS LONG AS THEIR DURABLE ENOUGH. If their so fragile they break under play than that defeats the whole point

I really hope the Kingdom Earth mode Mirge is a better figure then the Siege version, and not just by replacing the clear plastic with solid plastic. Keep on being amazing The Lazy Eyebrow, and thank you for sharing your honest thoughts on Siege Mirage.

Also, I enjoyed this video. it didn't feel much different than a normal video. Even if you don't enjoy the figure a whole lot, it wasn't a bash fest. If the opinion of a lowly random internet stranger counts for anything, this is a great way to put out content for people who want to see the figure and yet not drive yourself mad animating a figure you're not thrilled about.

Despite me being fine with this figure I'll just say the bigger sin than this toy is he's portrayal in the actual siege show

I actually like this figure a lot the robot mode looks really good, great accessories and articulation and vehicle mode looks good in front. My only main gripe is the use of clear plastic which can be worrying

I'd love to see more mini-reviews. Maybe you can return to figures you originally reviewed when you first started the channel or don't have much to say about them. Either way, a fantastic idea. We don't wanna overwork you. Also Mirage as a F-Zero car sounds cool.

Nice! If this is your idea of a quick review I'll take 20. I mean, I've grown to love TRDQ, and this is epic in length by comparison. I totally get your criticism of the transformation, and for the life of me I don't understand why they did it that way. Still, the figure spends most of his time standing on a shelf, and wherever the parts come from, as a shelf stander, he looks the part. I do still love the classics design though.

That chest looks like Bruticus took a mallet to it(though I do like the wheels in the chest slightly sticking out the back)

The funny thing is, the best part of one mode (upper body and the front of the car) becomes the worst part of the other mode (spoiler and legs).

Well...I have a different opinion about this figure, but that aside the review is fantastic and I like the mini series format owing to the fact that it fits perfectly into my 10 minute breaks. Good job! Keep it up!

Coming back to this, I plan to get a Mirage for my sister, who is more interested in formula racers than Transformers. I found a good 2-for-1 deal for a Henkei Mirage and 07 Fracture (she gets Mirage, I get Fracture)...but should I just get her a loose Kingdom one if I can find one? Or the Classics mold should suffice for her?

Been debating on which mirage to get, bummed that back end exists on the siege one, if the kingdom does have the chest hide underneath then I’ll get that one for sure

I think something important to think about with Cybertronian modes is...they aren't really for anything but the Cybertronian's movement? If it's supposed to be earth mode, sure, it's dumb to have things that are entirely unrelated to it functioning as a vehicle. but they AREN'T really vehicles, are they? They're Robots. in Disguise

generations jetfire always bugged me with that one little dainty part that holds 1/3 of the jet... always afraid it's going to break if i transform it again

As somebody who Mirage is their favorite transformer, I recently got the Classics figure and it does NOT look right next to WFC stuff. It sticks out like a sore thumb. That being said, I love it to bits and I like it way more than the Siege version. The siege version is better as part of the collection, to stand there with your other bots on a shelf or in photos, but the Classics version is the better figure individually. Personally, I keep the siege version with the autobot display on my shelf, and have the classics as a fun desk toy.

Yeah. They made a Mirage that feels more like an updated Slapdash without the powermaster gimmick. So much so, that I'm planning to use my Netflix Mirage to make a Slapdash. As for the empty spot in my collection, I'm going to try to do a heavy custom of Combiner Wars Mirage since I haven't found a suitable 3rd party alternative. And if that works out well, I'll duplicate it for the red Diaclone Mirage which I will name Mistero (Italian for mystery).
