Totally. That's how I ended up here. I found an ad, someone selling a set of Diezel, Soldano, Friedman, Bogner micro heads for $1000 Canadian Metric dollars. Super tempt.

I love the magic, I also love the variety of condensations of the VH4 that we’ve been offered so far. I think a fantastic comparo would be to have the Brainworx VH4 plugin vs VH4 pedal vs VH micro vs VH4 Synergy module vs the real thing.

that's the beauty of solid state. tone is more consistent no matter where you're at on the volume knob. I'm a tube head for sure but these days I've been having to admit solid state has absolute advantages over their tube varieties

This demo makes it sound like a proper amp. The others I've seen of the Friedman and Bogner sound more obviously pedal into ss power amp.

I'd love to hear this amp with that OD in person. Quite impressive the chug coming from that combo, particularly as meaty and aggressive as it is, given that it's solid state.

Hey Ola! Great Channel!! Be nice to see you test a triple xxx, as well as a Carvin V3. Be nice to hear your take on these amps. Another subject of interest would be how you go about getting great live tone. How you go about it and all the options to consider in the process. Thanks for all you’ve shared with us

This is such a good idea. I've always wanted a VH4, but given that I can't afford it, and I live in an apartment and I can't crank it up, it's out of the question. This looks like a great alternative. I only wish they added a headphone or a line out jack, so I could do silent playing on this.

That's probably one of the best transistor amps I've heard, it seems like it's using that harsher hard distortion to it's advantage. I'd actually like to hear the preamp from this ran into a tube power amp, maybe run the preamp into the bigger brother DIezel amp I haven't got far enough to know if this has an fx loop yet so not sure if getting a preamp out from it is possible without modification. If so, should definitely compare it's preamp running into the big Diezel compared to the Diezel's own preamp and see how close they got

Mini and Lunchboxed amps are fkn killer 🔥 nice tones out of them , travel size for rehearsals, space savers on your room / car / studio / living room , healty for your back while carrying then and jaw droppers for those Amp snobs that think Only 100w amps are the way to go 🔥

Great review Ola 🤘 there's more and more of these mini amps coming out and the sound from some of the ones you've reviewed have been insane for the size and price. I've got a Randall Diavalo 5 watt head amp and love that little amp it packs a punch for the size. Love and respect from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤘

The Mini-Herbert MK3 needs to have real preamp tubes & a real full-size rec tube, though. Because you just can’t quite imitate that real tube Diezel sound, sag, and depth, without actual tubes. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Since these have a loop it is not that big of deal that they dont havea clean channel. You can always hook up a processor in the 4 cable method to get your clean tones and also add any effects you may need.

I had my boss katana artist mk2 at 113dB and played it for hours and I gave myself tinnitus from doing that multiple times and listening to music full volume through headphones

Great tone! THICC yet articulate. I mean c'mon for a $329 solid state amp, it kills! I think like the Orange micros, it would sound best on a 2x12 or 1x12.

I think this might be the best sounding, affordable mini-amp head I've ever heard, for high gain anyways. I'm going to have to look and see if anyone has done a full on top 5 mini head battle.

Id love you do a video comparing different lunchbox/pedal amps to see if they'll keep up with a metal drummer. As a disabled, Im really sick of bringing my head to band practice every time.

I would assume not to be honest. I used to play with a 20 watt tube head at practice and it had to be cranked to barely sit above the drummer.

@@okaight7248 I think the Victory Kraken pedal is 180w, not full valve though. (still out of my budget) They are a few lunchbox style amps getting close to 50 valve Watts. I just wish orange would release a 50w+ pedal amp

Hey Ola, have you ever used the room sound Kurt Ballou signature series drums for a recording session. I’ve been using them for a short time and would like to see someone play around with it and use it in a session setting.
